2014 SFL MOCK DRAFT V1.0

1.1- St. Louis Rams- WR Mike Evans- Texas A&M
Evans is a true #1 WR lead by his 6'5" 225 lbs. frame, only 21 years old, blazing SPD, blazing ACC, decent football IQ and already comes with above average CTH, He'll be a top and much needed target for Booty.

1.2- New England Patriots- QB Derek Carr- Fresno State
The Patriots are in desperate need of a franchise QB after legendary QB Tom Brady finally retired. Carr is the most polished QB in this class and with the right playbook can help right the ship right away but will come with ups and downs for sure. Carr has decent size at 6'3" 215 lbs., his 75 AWR is tops in the class and a great start right out of the gate, decent THP and above average THA.

1.3- Tennessee Titans- OT Taylor Lewan- Michigan
Lewan brings excellent size at 6'8" 302 lbs., his STR is top notch, above average football IQ for the position and already a solid pass/run blocker. He can come in day 1 and be a starter on the OL, my guess is at RT where I think he'd excel.

1.4- Carolina Panthers- WR Kelvin Benjamin- Florida State
Like Evans, Benjamin offers the size of a TE (6'5" 234 lbs.) with the SPD of a WR with a bit less CTH than Evans but it shouldn't deter the Panthers who lack a true #1 WR which Benjamin will most likely thrive in, not many corners are going to hang with this physical specimen.

1.5- Seattle Seahawks- QB Teddy Bridgewater- Louisville
The Hawks traded star WR A.J. Green to move into this slot so it will need to be a difference maker. Bridgewater is right up there with QB Derek Carr, Teddy is only 22 years old, 6'3" 215 lbs. which is good size for the position, he lacks a bit in THP but his 97 THA is by far the best in this class to go along with 69 AWR which is also a very good starting point. He can sit for a season behind Alex Green and get the 5 mentor points or start right away.

1.6- Tennessee Titans- OL Jake Matthews- Texas A&M
Jake Matthews and Taylor Lewan are 1A and 1B, both are excellent OL prospects. At 6'5" 305 lbs. he's the perfect size to start at G or T, maybe have Matthews at LT and move Welch to G who knows but like Lewan, Matthews is uses his brute STR to push defenders and excels in both the run and pass protection. It's a risk starting 2 rookies along the OL but these guys aren't ordinary blockers either.

1.7- Indianapolis Colts- OT Justin Britt- Missouri
Britt is another plug and play OL in this class, he's a little less polished than the 2 that went above him but he's a big boy at 6'6" 325 lbs., quite athletic for a man of his stature, unreal power driving DL to the ground, decent football IQ and above average run/pass blocking who can start from day 1.

1.8- Atlanta Falcons- WR Kevin Norwood- Alabama
A mini version of Evans and Benjamin at 6'3" 210 lbs. and this dude can flat out fly, 99 SPD/99AGI/97ACC make him a candidate for the 99/99/99 club at the WR position plus adequate football IQ. He does lack in hands and height but he can get those hands worked on in TC and regular season but you can't teach that electrifying SPD.

1.9- Seattle Seahawks- DE Jadeveon Clowney- South Carolina
The Seahawks seem to covet size at the LE position and Clowney clocks in at 6'6" 272 lbs. , with athletic ability, also comes with great STR able to push back OL to get to the QB or RB with ease and starts out with adequate TAK and football IQ. He and Curry , who had a solid first season would form a solid young duo.

1.10- Tennessee Titans- CB Kyle Fuller- Virginia
The draft has fallen perfectly for the Titans who can now take BPA at this point and the player standing out to me here is CB Kyle Fuller who imo is the safest CB in this class. He's 6'0", great athletic ability, great closing SPD, already comes with solid AWR , he can work on his hands and would probably be the best NCB in the SFL to start his career.

1.11- San Diego Chargers- DE DeMarcus Lawrence- Boise State
Lawrence is an undersized 6'3" 244 lbs. DL but makes up for it athletically and is 1 of the best pass rushers in this class. Not only can he get to the QB but can also shed tacklers with his STR to get in the backfield on running plays. Lawrence teamed with English would give offensive coordinators nightmares.

1.12- Oakland Raiders- CB Justin Gilbert- Oklahoma State
Gilbert would be a solid addition to our secondary, 6'0" and athletic, he also has solid attributes across the board including 70 CTH, 70 TAK and 61 AWR. He could start right away or sit a year and gain the experience but I'd feel good with that trio of corners.

1.13- Cleveland Browns- CB Pierre Desir- Washburn
Desir would add great size in the secondary at 6'1", his athletic ability is off the charts for a corner his size. His football IQ isn't ideal but that is something you can teach. His JMP is extraordinary and both his TAK and CTH are adequate. You tend to want to ease in a rookie corner but it's hard when you have athletic freaks like Desir at the position.

1.14- New Orleans Saints- WR Jarvis Landry- LSU
I think Landry is an immediate starter at the position, he doesn't have the height of the 3 who went before him but he makes up for it with SPD, SPD and more SPD. His hands are right around average which is good for a rookie WR, can go up for JMP balls also. I see Landry across from Jones day 1 with Stedman in the slot where he'd be more lethal.

1.15- Dallas Cowboys- RB Carlos Hyde- Ohio State
Hyde brings a physical presence that the Cowboys lacked last season, a big bruising back at 6'0" 242 lbs., his STR will allow him to shed tackles, his athletic ability isn't off the charts but if nobody can take him down for 7 yards here and 8 yards there that's almost as important as the homerun threat imo. He also has decent hands plus his BTK/CAR are above average in this class and getting as many weapons for Glennon as possible has to be a priority in a tight NFC East.

1.16- Washington Redskins- CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste- Nebraska
The Redskins secondary is looking thin after regression has set in on both Alan Zemetis/David Irons but Kirkpatrick is a 6'2" stud so let's pair him with another 6'2' stud corner in the making. He doesn't have blazing SPD but he's got plenty for a guy with his frame, he has excellent starting AWR for a rookie, almost elite JMP and adequate CTH/TAK both of which he can work on in TC/regular season. He can play NCB behind Irons for a year to progress or start immediately and take the ups and downs of a rookie corner.

1.17- New York Jets- S Jonathan Dowling- Western Kentucky
Not just a big body at 6'3" but also has unreal freakish athletic ability for a guy his size. His JMP is already elite and both his AWR/CTH are adequate for a rookie. Pair him next to his other 6'3" FS Yancy and you have a dangerous secondary.

1.18- Arizona Cardinals- CB Walt Aikens- Liberty
Aikens has the luxury to sit and wait a year at least while Browner mentors him. He's noted for being a 6'0" corner with blazing SPD, elite JMP and average TAK/CTH. His AWR can be worked on in TC and during the regular season so he can step right into the role once Browner departs.

1.19- Baltimore Ravens- CB Antone Exum Jr.- Virginia Tech
Exum is the perfect candidate to groom for a year or 2, let him gain mentor points from Maxey while playing in a NCB role. He has excellent size being 6'1" 224 lbs. , elite JMP but needs to work more on his CTH and AWR but once he does he'll be a top notch corner in this league for years.

1.20- Minnesota Vikings- OT Mitchell Van Dyk- Portland State
1 of the biggest OL in this class at 6'8" 325 lbs., he's strong enough to push the pile forward, one of the most agile OL in this class, his AWR is average and both his run/pass blocking is teetering around above average. I think he can turn into a great RT for the Vikings who seem to do wonders with players like this.

1.21- San Diego Chargers- RB Jeremy Hill- LSU
Hill isn't going to wow anyone with his SPD but what he will do is plow right over you with his 6'2" 235 lbs. frame and 78 STR. His BTK is on the verge of elite and his CAR is average but can be worked on in TC/regular season. Donald Brown is a complimentary back and Brandon Jackson is a season away from regression. Hill can sit and learn for a season in spot duty or start immediately and probably make a big impact.

1.22- Chicago Bears- WR Cody Latimer- Indiana
The bears replenish the WR position with 6'3" 215 lbs Latimer, he doesn't have blazing SPD but can definitely be a deep threat with his size/SPD combo. His AWR needs work but his hands are average for this class and has above average JMP. I feel he can be an immediate impact starter for da Bears right from the get go.

1.23- Chicago Bears- CB Dontae Johnson- N.C. State
Dontae measures in at 6'2" 200 lbs, another big corner off the board and a great situation for the Bears who can sit and wait with him to develop at least a year or 2 before the regression really kicks Grahams ass. Johnson has some SPD, can JMP with the best WR's but lacks the football IQ and CTH right off the bat but make no mistake he'll be a monster in a few seasons.

1.24- Jacksonville Jaguars- DT Will Sutton- Arizona State
I think the Jags need another presence in the middle of the DL and Sutton is the only DT I'd consider in round 1. He has good size 6'2" 315 lbs., he's very athletic with 69 SPD, 75 AGI, 75 ACC to close in on QB's/RB's. He'd compliment Peko's skill nicely alongside him.

1.25- Denver Broncos- WR Donte Moncrief- Ole Miss
Moncrief was a standout at Ole Miss and should be in the SFL also in the not too distant future. He can utilize his size at 6'3" 226 lbs but also displays excellent footwork able to burn you deep, he also displays above average hands for this class and elite JMP. I see him waiting in the wings for a season or 2 as the slot WR until he's ready to jump right into Jones' spot.

1.26- Minnesota Vikings- ILB Prince Shembo- Notre Dame
The Prince offers alot to like, his size for one at 6'2" 253 lbs., not to mention the athletic ability that's off the charts then you have the brute STR that he possesses which will make it easy to shed tackles. His CTH will allow him to cover downfield against TE's and RB's in the flat. He can sit a year or 2 before he's ready to take over.

1.27- Indianapolis Colts- LG Trai Turner - LSU
The top G in this class and another OL prospect for the Colts here but I feel it's time to stock the cupboards. He's only 20 years young, exceptionally quick feet for being a 6'3" 310 lbs. and he's above average in both the run and pass game. He doesn't need to start day 1 which is best as you don't want too many young OL starting at the same time.

1.28- New York Jets- OLB Marcus Smith- Louisville
The Jets add another athletic player to the defense, this time at the OLB position. Smith will bring fresh legs. size, and a whole lot of STR. There aren't any glaring needs for the Jets at the moment so filling future needs here with this pick.

1.29- Denver Broncos- CB Jaylen Watkins- Florida
Watkins has the athletic ability you look for in a CB and if he isn't going to be 6'0" or taller than he better be a freakish athlete like Watkins is. He isn't as developed as some of the other corners but his elite JMP, above average CTH/TAK could make him a desirable choice here.

1.30- San Diego Chargers- OG Zack Martin- Notre Dame
The Chargers can't resist OL and LG will be a problem next year. Martin can start right away or sit behind Herremans for a season until he's ready to take over the reigns. Martin isn't a monster but at 6'4" 315 lbs. he is plenty able to anchor the interior, he also has the STR of an ox, some of the quickest feet at the position but might have to work on his blocking before he takes over.

1.31- Pittsburgh Steelers- ILB Christian Kirksey- Iowa
Kirksey could come in right now and start for the Steelers, he has the STR to break through the line directly to the RB in the backfield or taking down QB's. He's a very athletically gifted player who excels in pass coverage also, a steal this late.

1.32- Dallas Cowboys- CB Darqueze Dennard- Michigan State
The Cowboys close out the round and shore up a very thin secondary with Dennard, he isn't a giant but he has very underrated attributes. He has the SPD to hang with most WR's, his AWR is above average for this class, elite JMP, elite TAK and solid CTH. He would definitely compliment Sherrod Martin.
