2014 Draft Day Steals (1st Round)
By Brad Barber

Another excellent draft, every team seemed to help themselves again this season but here are the picks I thought were steals where they were selected. I always seem to do these before I see all the skews but double activity points runs out also so.... Cool

Steals Of Round 1-

1.5- Seattle Seahawks CB Kyle Fuller
I think the phrase "I'm running to the podium" by GM Rock Hewko sums it up. I never thought he had a chance getting out of the top 3 so to get him at 1.5 is such a great value. He could have went 1.1 and it wouldn't have surprised me but I understand the fit for both the Rams/Pats.

1.9- Seattle Seahawks OT Taylor Lewan
The Seahawks are cleaning up at this point. Lewan was the top OT on the board and they usually go really high so getting equal value as he did with CB Fuller early on was another solid pick here and these 2 could really reshape Rock's roster for sure.

1.16- Washington Redskins QB Teddy Bridgewater
Man with all these old geezers at QB on most of these rosters I was shocked that Bridgewater fell so far down the list. In my mock I was trying to find the perfect team but with mentors I was still surprised but the value that the Redskins got here is pretty significant. He will 1 day take over for Carson Palmer as early as this season.

1.18- Denver Broncos WR Jarvis Landry
I did like the other WR's that went before him but it's hard to deny the value of a 6'1" 195 lbs. 99SPD/99AGI/99ACC WR that Landry is plus the 79 CTH to go along with 86 JMP and I'd say they really have to be happy with the players they came away with.

1.19- Baltimore Ravens OT Jake Matthews
Taylor Lewan and Jake Matthews were 1A and 1B, you can decide which is which and 1 was taken at 1.9, the other was 10 picks later. Matthews was heavily considered at 1.12 as well, this is unreal value here and could quite possibly be the biggest steal in this class.

1.29- San Diego Chargers OT RB Carlos Hyde
It looks like the Chargers may have finally found a RB in Carlos Hyde who is a load. I had him as the top back in this class by a country mile with his size and attributes. Great value at a position they've been lacking since taking over the Chargers.
