AFC East
1.
Miami Dolphins
2.
New England Patriots
3.
New York Jets
4.
Buffalo Bills
Analysis: Until we see otherwise, I think it's safe to say that the AFC East belongs to the
Miami Dolphins. Behind them, it may be a surprise, but I really like what the
New England Patriots did this offseason and I think Derek Carr may have a season somewhat similar to Brady Quinn's rookie year. The last two teams are a toss up. I think that the
New York Jets are a little more trustworthy, but this
Buffalo Bills team is on the hot seat, so they may get chippy.
AFC North
1.
Cincinnati Bengals
2.
Baltimore Ravens
3.
Cleveland Browns
4.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Analysis: Rumors abound that the
Cincinnati Bengals almost moved Isaiah Stanback this offseason, but they doubled down on their leader to take another run at a Super Bowl. I like their chances, but the
Baltimore Ravens have retooled and appear ready for a good fight. The
Cleveland Browns will hold on tight to their third spot in the division, while the
Pittsburgh Steelers bring up the rear. Things are looking up in Pittsburgh, but not this season.
AFC South
1.
Indianapolis Colts
2.
Tennessee Titans
3.
Jacksonville Jaguars
4.
Houston Texans
Analysis: The AFC South may be the best division in the entire league, as I don't think there is a single team that I don't trust. David Carr was insane last season and I can't pick against the
Indianapolis Colts. I do like what GM Apolo Shapiro has done with the
Tennessee Titans (though he has too many future 1sts) -- and I like their chances to push for the playoffs. It was hard putting them over the
Jacksonville Jaguars, but I think the Titans did improve that much. Last place is the
Houston Texans, but they may be the best last place team in the league.
AFC West
1.
Kansas City Chiefs
2.
San Diego Chargers
3.
Oakland Raiders
4.
Denver Broncos
Analysis: There is a bit of a "troll" here, but I legitimately do believe that the
Kansas City Chiefs will win this division. The
San Diego Chargers will be good, but GM Rodany Mendez has shown that he knows how to gameplan and play to his team's strengths. The
Oakland Raiders regress and give up the division for the first of many seasons to come and the
Denver Broncos still struggle in last place.
