NFC East
1.
Washington Redskins
2.
Philadelphia Eagles
3.
New York Giants
4.
Dallas Cowboys
Analysis: It's make or break time for the
Washington Redskins. Their team is about to hit regression hard and they need to lean into Carson Palmer now while preparing for the future with Teddy Bridgewater. Second place may surprise you, but I actually like what the
Philadelphia Eagles have done with their team and I think they're in a good spot. The
New York Giants look due to regress some and they begin to re-tool. And would it be NFC East Predictions without the
Dallas Cowboys in last place? Symons, nor Glennon, is the answer.
NFC North
1.
Green Bay Packers
2.
Chicago Bears
3.
Detroit Lions
4.
Minnesota Vikings
Analysis: The changing of the guard is here. I believe the
Green Bay Packers have the best team in the division and take advantage of a couple rebuilding years in Minnesota. Behind them are the ever chippy
Chicago Bears. The
Detroit Lions look good on paper, but history tells me I shouldn't believe in them. Last place is the
Minnesota Vikings who have announced they will be starting Tyler Wilson at quarterback.
NFC South
1.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2.
Carolina Panthers
3.
New Orleans Saints
4.
Atlanta Falcons
Analysis: It's going to be a very tough battle in the Mellon household this year, as I think this may come down to a week 16 or week 17 decision between the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers and
Carolina Panthers. I'm going to go with experience to win out, but would love to be wrong. Third place seems like the right spot for the
New Orleans Saints, while the
Atlanta Falcons continue to rebuild from having their roster decimated by retirements post Super Bowl.
NFC West
1.
Arizona Cardinals
2.
Seattle Seahawks
3.
San Francisco 49ers
4.
St. Louis Rams
Analysis: If there is anything that I know, it's that when GM Rock Hewko and the
Seattle Seahawks are on the hot seat, he gets double digit wins. So book it. Second place has to be the
San Francisco 49ers who are too good to not compete for a playoff spot. It feels bad putting the defending champions in third place, but this is a tough division, even for the
Arizona Cardinals. Last place is the
St. Louis Rams until we see anything to make us believe otherwise.
