2015 SFL MOCK DRAFT V2.0
1.1- Philadelphia Eagles- DE Frank Clark- Michigan
Clark is the #1 rated player on my board, his 90 SPD/99 STR/88 ACC makes him an immediate impact starter and should be a disruptor on every play whether thats getting to the QB, stopping a RB behind the los or putting the pressure on he's going to be gameplanned for on game days.
1.2- New York Jets- WR Darren Waller- Georgia Tech
Waller's strengths are pretty apparent... He's a situational nightmare at 6'6", blazing speed for a guy of his stature, great starting football IQ to go along with elite JMP. He'll need to learn how to catch at the next level but lucky for the Jets that's something he can easily work on throughout the season.
1.3- Denver Broncos- RB Todd Gurley- Georgia
Todd Gurley is an absolute beast, 6'1" 232 lbs. , 20 years old, he can run by you with his 94 SPD/92 ACC or he can run right over you with his 80 STR, 67 CTH isn't too shabby either and Tom once said "I can't stop anyone on defense anyways i might as well get more offense" so this makes perfect sense. He's going to be a nightmare trying to take down in the division.
1.4- San Diego Chargers- WR Amari Cooper- Alabama
I really like Cooper, he's one of my favorite prospects and reminds me alot of Braylon Edwards coming out of college. Cooper is a stud at 6'1" 211 lbs, he has the jets to beat you deep, excellent starting AWR, the best hands in the WR class and above average JMP, he'd be the perfect compliment to Doss on the outside and fills a big need for the Chargers.
1.5- Arizona Cardinals- RB Melvin Gordon- Wisconsin
it's no secret that the Cards are in need of a 3 down back after losing Demarco Murray in FA. I'm sure they would have loved Gurley here but Melvin Gordon is quite the consolation prize, another 6'1" 215 lbs back in the mold of Murray with great speed, excellent STR and can be the every down back that the Cards covet.
1.6- Houston Texans- CB Byron Jones- UConn
I don't know if the Texans expected Jones to fall into their lap but GM Wade pearce has to be ecstatic to land the 6'1" 199 lbs. potential 99SPD/99AGI/99ACC with elite JMP, solid CTH/TAK as well and would start immediately along side of Aaron Williams to form a solid duo.
1.7- Jacksonville Jaguars- QB Jameis "Crablegs" Winston- Florida State
The Jags get the QB of the future and Winston can be mentored by Leftwich this year. There is alot to like including his 6'4" 231 lbs. frame, he's also only 21 years old which is a great sell. his arm STR is next level but will need to work on THA, his AWR is also decent. He'll definitely need to get starts in so he ccan progress properly but he can be the future in Jacksonville.
1.8- Jacksonville Jaguars- TE Tyler Kroft- Rutgers
I'm sure the jags really wanted a RB here, they could trade down or select a stud for QB Leftwich like Tyler Kroft, he's 6'5" 247 lbs. and a pure athletic freak. He'll need to work on CTH/AWR at the next level but you can't teach athletic ability.
1.9- San Francisco 49ers- WR Devante Parker- Louisville
This seems like a perfect fit for the 49ers who have an aging WR core. Parker reminds me of a former 49er Todd Watkins, Parker is the same height at 6'3" 209 lbs. , not only is he 1 of the fastest in this class for a guy his size but he has some of the best hands as well and could start oppositie of Rice or in the slot year 1.
1.10- Seattle Seahawks- SS Landon Collins- Alabama
Is there a more Rock Hewko type of player in this draft than Landon Collins? 6'0" 225 lbs, 94 SPD/97 AGI/ 96 ACC , that very well could be the fastest most athletic S in all of the SFL, will it translate to wins? I'm not sure but I think we're going to find out.
1.11- New Orleans Saints- WR Kaelin Clay- UConn
UConn is representing in this draft! I see a bunch of above average WR but none that can take the top off of defenses so to me Clay is a great fit here. He's 6'2" possibly a 99SPD/99AGI/99ACC WR, his AWR is pedestrian so is his JMP but he has decent hands and great BTK, basically a homerun threat every time he touches the ball.
1.12- Baltimore Ravens- CB Marcus Peters- Washington
I like Peters here, he give the Ravens a tall CB at 6'0" 197 lbs. , he's very athletic, great starting football IQ, elite CTH and above average JMP makes him either a starter right away or have him as the NCB until the AWR goes up a bit.
1.13- San Diego Chargers- RT Brandon Scherff- Iowa
Death, taxes and the San Diego Chargers taking an OL. Scherff is a top notch RT who can start immediately . 6'5" 319 lbs. 99 STR, tons of athletic ability but will need to work on his pass blocking. There is alot to like like with the iowa product as he has some of the quickest feet in this class and should be a day 1 starter.
1.14- New York Giants- CB Jalen Collins- LSU
The secondary for the Giants is getting very long in the tooh , it's time for a youth infusion. Collins has immediate starter potential either as a RCB or NCB in year 1. He has a 6'1" 203 lbs. frame which is ideal for most SFL GM's, he has excellent speed and athleticism but his above average football IQ has to be appealing to a GM who needs a starter.
1.15- Atlanta Falcons- CB Kevin Johnson- Wake Forest
Like above the same applies to the Falcons, I think they'd like a starting caliber CB and kevin johnson looks ready. 6'0" 188 lbs., excellent athlete, excellent football IQ able to have him start in the RCB spot or at NCB for a year, avove average hands and above average JMP.
1.16- Minnesota Vikings- RT Daryl Williams- Oklahoma
Williams could start immediately for the Vikings, being 6'6" 335 lbs, super athletic with quick feet and the brute strength that he posses seems like a pick Neal would be happy with. He'll need to work on the pass blocking at the next level but that can be progressed throughout the season.
1.17- Green Bay Packers- LE Preston Smith- Mississippi State
I see an opening at LE for the Green bay Packers and this would be a perfect spot for Preston Smith, at 6'5" 265 lbs, 91 SPD, 88 STR, he has the prototypical size to play any scheme, the strength to bull over the opposition or the speed to blow right by them and they get a day 1 starter at 1.17.
1.18- Oakland Raiders- WR Stefon Diggs- Maryland
I siad I'm going with best player available and I'd have to assume at this point it's Diggs. We lost alot of speed once we traded WR Carlton Mitchell to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Diggs would make up alot of that back. He's not the biggest dude at 6'0" 195 lbs but has track like speed, decent starting football IQ, great hands and above average JMP, he could play opposite of Julio Jones for sure.
1.19- New England Patriots- WR Chris Conley- Georgia
Conley has the size most GM's covet at 6'3" 205 lbs, he also has exceptional speed, nobody is going to catch him if he makes it into the open area of the field, his hands are about average and starts off with decent foootball IQ. He could start opposite of Quick or start year 1 in the slot but his impact will be felt in some capacity in year 1.
1.20- Detroit Lions- RB Jay Ajayi- Boise State
The Lions have a big hole to fill at RB and the big bruiser Jay Ajayi is sitting out there so this seems like a good fit. Another big back at 6'0" 221 lbs who has the STR to bull over you, enough speed to go around you and some of the best hands to catch out of the backfield as an added bonus. He'll need to work on his CAR but is already elite at BTK.
1.21- Cincinnati Bengals- LE Dante Fowler Jr.- Florida
I don't see a bigger need on the Bengals roster than LE, some GMs will be turned off by the AWR of these DE's but in my experience it doesn't make 1 bit of difference for defensive lineman. Fowler is a stud in the making, 6'3" 261 lbs, not the brute strength of the other 2 before him but good emnough, he excels at ggetting to the QB with 85 SPD, 87 ACC combo.
1.22- Philadelphia Eagles- TE Blake Bell- Oklahoma
The Eagles traded away stud TE Gary Barnidge and finally replace his production. 6'6" 250 lbs, he's an all pro athlete for his size, also an all pro blocker but he certainly has his flaws like the 33 AWR, 63 CTH but I'd definitely take a flier on him this late and would be too good to pass up.
1.23- New York Giants- OLB Lorenzo Mauldin - Louisville
I still have the men in blue taking Mauldin here, he's not only a LB who can fit in any scheme but he could possibly be the most athletic in the SFL to go along with that 6'4" 259 lbs frame and can start immediately. The Giants shorre up the secondary now get a solid edge rusher.
1.24- Cincinnati Bengals- OLB Zadarius Smith - Kentucky
Smith is another big dude at 6'4" 275 lbs, he can fly to the football, solid football IQ and an avaerage tackler, he seems like he can fit any scheme and should be an excellent edge rusher for the Bungles.
1.25- Atlanta Falcons- WR Geremy Davis - UConn
I know the Falcons took Norwood quite high in last years draft but I think Davis would be too good to pass up here. 6'3" 211 lbs. would be an excellent compliment to Norwood with his SPD and almost elite CTH, yeah he's a bit daft between the ears but so are half of the prospects.
1.26- Oakland Raiders- RG Ali Marpet - Hobart
I feel if the draft fell like this BPA right now may be Ali Marpet who would come in day 1 for us and start, he's 6'4" 307 lbs, what he lacks in ideal size he makes up for with his brute STR (97) , he has some of the quickest feet in this class and already average to above average blocking to go along with his decent football IQ.
1.27- Chicago Bears- RT D.J. Humphries - Florida
RT Tony Ugoh is older now and very expensive, ditching his salary would give the Bears cap freedon and Huumphries could come in and start right away, 6'5" 315 lbs, 1 of the more athletic tackles in this class and definitely the best blocker of the bunch.
1.28- Houston Texans- LE Danielle Hunter - LSU
I think Hunter for sure has 1st round potential, he's a bit undersized at 6'5" 252 lbs but as Demarcus Lawrence and GM Will Cook has taught us, size isn't everything
. At 20 years old he has plenty of seasons ahead terrorizing QB's with that 87 SPD/82 ACC combo.
1.29- Cleveland Browns- RB David Johnson- Northern Iowa
I don't think the Browns are all that thrilled with RB Tony Hunt as the starter, he has yet to get into double digit TDs. David Johnson is yet another bruiser in this class 6'1" 224 lbs, solid STR, can catch out of the backfield and like most will need to work on the CAR/BTK but those can progress throughout the season, he can plug and play or get points by spelling Hunt.
1.30- Kansas City Chiefs- WR Dorial Green-Beckham- Oklahoma
Green-Beckham is the tallest WR in this class at 6'5" 237 lbs, if he's even remotely close to the 90's in SPD/ACC I can see a team (especially 1 previously with CJ) taking a flier on him. His CTH is average along with his JMP.
1.31- Denver Broncos- RT Donovan Smith - Penn State
The Broncos need to address the RT situation, 6'6" 338 lbs Donovan Smith imo is a plug and play starter, athletic, strong as an ox, average blocking and mid tier football IQ, he's not perfect but a plug and play starter at 31 is excellent value.
1.32- Miami Dolphins- CB Eric Rowe - Utah
I'd like to think the Dolphins shore up that NCB slot with a guy like Rowe, 6'1" 205 lbs, excellent SPD/AGI/ACC, he needs to work on his football IQ and hands but his elite JMP and top notch tackling may outweigh the bad.
