An early look at the 2016 SFL Draft: OFFENSE
By Brad Barber

Here is an early look at some of the top prospects and how they rank for the upcoming SFL Draft. Definitely subject to change by draft day. You will get the names of all of college footballs top 5 studs at each position on offense minus fullbacks since they aren't people too in this article.

QB
The cream of the crop in this years draft class is QB Jared Goff from Cal, who stands at 6'4" 210 lbs. and the scouting report on him is that he makes incredible throws with defenders bearing down on him and is fearless in the pocket. The next QB that some may call 1A and 1B is the raw but very talented Carson Wentz out of North Dakota State, who's scouting report reads: His arm stands out of the crowd, he can fire the ball deep or on comeback throws plus can burn you with his legs if left unchecked. Then we have Paxton Lynch out of Memphis who is in the same mold as Brock Osweiler of the Chargers. Lynch stands at a whopping 6'7" 245 lbs. and should have no problem seeing over OL plus he seems to be moving up draft boards because of the arm and accuracy. The next QB on this list is from Penn State and his name is Christian Hackenberg who some GM's have right off their lists due to his accuracy concerns (only had a 48.1 % comp% this season) and his decision making has been questionable to say the least but he has the prototypical size most GM's covet at 6'4" 235 lbs and can make all the throws. Last but not least we have Dak Prescott Mississippi State, he doesn't have the prototypical size as the the others in front of him but his pin point accuracy maybe sets him apart from the rest that he has no problem putting the ball in tight windows that SFL scouts like to see and there is a certain GM (cough cough Kevin Mullendore cough) who might try and jump everyone for a chance to draft his idol.

RB
The #1 RB on just about everyones board has to be Alabama's Derrick Henry who at 6'3" 242 lbs is not only the biggest back in this draft class by a country mile but will also be the biggest back in the entire SFL and I just hope he isn't going to a division rival. the next RB on most peoples board after the monster that is Derrick Henry is another bruiser Ezekiel Elliott the Ohio State alum, known for his elusiveness but also has no trouble running over people either. The dropoff after these 2 is probably steep but Kenyan Drake from Alabama who shared the backfield with Henry is no slouch either at 6'1" 210 lbs but is more known for his ankle breaking elusiveness more than his bruising style of play. RB Alex Collins of Arkansas should be up there in the mix and has a solid blend of power, elusiveness and the vision to hit the hole full speed ahead. Lastly we have another big bruising back who can catch Jonathan Williams the other Arkansas Razorback that shared time with Alex Collins above, Williams has amazing hands and probably the best hands of the bunch.

WR/TE
This probably won't be the class you need a top notch pass catcher but there should be a solid group like top prospect from TCU Josh Doctson who uses his 6'3" 195 lbs frame to shield defenders who had 65 rec, 1,018 yards and 11 TD last season. Next up is the speed demon Will Fuller Notre Dame who has the 6' frame GM's like but also one of the fastest if not the fastest. We just gave you possibly the fastest receiver before this pick and now the guy who runs the crispest routes is Ole Miss WR LaQuan Treadwell he won't be blazing past every corner but if you're looking for sure hands he's your man. This next guy could be the first WR taken by the time the draft rolls around in Ohio State's Michael Thomas who runs great routes, has amazing hands but word on the street is that he's injury prone. Lastly we have a TE to close out the position and it's the very athletic Hunter Henry of Arkansas. He is the cream of the crop for the tight ends, he won the Johns Mackey award for being the nations top TE and could help any team as both a pass catcher and elite blocker.

OT/OG
Now just the opposite as WR, if you need a top notch OL you should be good as this seems to be a solid group. The man from Notre Dame OT Ronnie Stanley who went back to Notre Dame to win a championship this year. The next on the list is the 6'6" bruiser Jack Conklin from Michigan State who is no slouch and won the outland trophy last season as college footballs top OL. Then you have the very talented Laremy Tunsil of Ole Miss, rumor has it there are some pictures going around of him in some hairy situations with drugs but the pictures haven't been confirmed...YET. Next we have Taylor Decker the giant 6'8" 315 lbs OT from Ohio State who was the leader of the OL and excels in pass blocking. Saving the best for last we have our first OG in Joe Thuney the 6'5" 305 lbs road grader who can pancake you in the run or pass game and will be an excellent addition to any teams interior offensive line.
