From 1st & 2nd Rounds to Unemployed- A Look At Our Free Agents
Until recently, I rarely drafted in the 1st or 2nd rounds of the draft, however our regression changed that were implemented a couple seasons ago (and that seem to be working, by the way) changed that need. If I did draft a player in the 1st or 2nd round, I told myself they had to start right away. That added to the fact that I am sentimental (admittedly, overly sentimental) and loyal to those few guys who have been drafted with in the first 64 picks, made me extremely surprised to see how many 1st or 2nd round picks are sitting in free agency. I guess this goes to show, even guys drafted very early regress to somewhat unusable, or at least, non starter attributes before retiring with updated regression. Take a look at this, who knows you may even find a small gem within this list and sign a player or two to a contract for the rest of the regular season and/or playoffs.
