Pablo E.’s 2016 SFL Mock Draft, Part 2
Who’s ready? I’m ready.
1.17
QB Nate Sudfeld, Indiana
Sudfeld could go a lot higher, as he’s only 21 with a great arm. He’ll have a mentor in veteran starter Quinn.
1.18
C.J. Ham, Austin Peay
That boy thick. It’s going to be like Ron Dayne and Tiki Barber all over again with Ham joining current starter Billy Sims—the new Thunder and Lightning. He’ll deny it but I know Romeo is jealous.
1.19
DE Yannick Ngakoue, Maryland
There doesn’t appear to be a long-term solution at RE, and even then, Ngakoue may just be the best player available anyway. He should help LE Lawrence make QBs a bit more nervous.
1.20
CB Jalen Ramsey, Florida State
Ramsey disappoints with his ceiling but he does have a decent floor. With a positive skew, rookie/sophomore progressions and some boosts, he could end up in the elite tier. That’s assuming he can stay under the threshold.
1.21
OLB Darron Lee, Notre Dame
Lee could potentially have 90+ speed, and currently only 1 other outside linebacker in the league matches that(Saints Kwon Alexander, 91). He could probably start week 1.
1.22
WR Cody Core, Ole Miss
The Bills continue to add weapons for their new QB. Core has good size and is a tremendous asset in the run game as he blocks like a lineman.
1.23
QB Jared Goff, California
While Stanback still has some in the tank, Cincy might want to address the future QB situation at some point soon. Goff is good value here and has a good base to start his mentorship.
1.24
OG Cody Whitehair, Kansas State
Whitehair is a plus athlete with a solid set of skills to build upon. He can be plugged into guard from the gate and perform respectably.
1.25
DE DeForest Buckner, Oregon
Buckner moves very well for his size and should contribute early in his career.
1.26
MLB B.J. Goodson, Clemson
Probably the best name I’ve seen in some time, and he happens to be a freak— just how Seattle likes them.
1.27
DT Adan Gotsis, Georgia Tech
Titans defensive tackle unit is a bit long in the tooth and will need fresh bodies soon. Gotsis has a good mix of speed and strength even if he is a bit undersized. At the very least he should end up a respectable interior pass rusher.
1.28
QB Christian Hackenberg, Penn State
Bears would love a tight end here, but unfortunately there’s no Blake Bell in this draft. Hackenberg can ride the pine for two seasons while learning from another fellow gunslinger who’s among the best in the league.
1.29
DE Anthony Zettel, Penn State
He’s no Preston Smith, who was traded across the state to the Cowboys, but Zettel’s upside looks solid enough to make an impact considering his size/speed combination.
1.30
MLB Reggie Ragland, Alabama
Current MLB Ogletree has performed admirably, but he’s set become a free agent. Ragland is only 21 and has very good football instincts.
1.31
WR Pharoh Cooper, South Carolina
Cooper may lack in size, but has pretty good speed. What sets him apart is his high football IQ.
1.32
WR Tyreek Hill, West Carolina
9ers add a speed demon to an already explosive offense. Tyreek could man the slot and serve as a return man.
