Rookie Position Review: HB

HB – I think GM’s opinions can vary on the importance of attributes that tie back to a successful HB… here’s my take on it. I lean toward looking at STR and BTK before anything else – this rookie class has three players I immediately am drawn to [STR = 80+ / BTK = 80+]. Thes same three players have 90+ SPD / AGI / ACC – talk about a phenomenal starting point (there are currently 9 HB in the SFL that can boast such attributes)! After those 5 attributes, I tend to use AWR and CAR as a tie-breaker (if needed):

• HB Derrick Henry: Knowing Henry is ONLY 20 years old… it’s easy to see him having at least a 12-year career as a starter – 15,000+ yards and 100+ TD’s seem like a reasonable projection. Henry is the biggest [6’2” and 247 lbs] and strongest [83] HB in the class and he he’s not going down via arm tackles [BTK = 84]. Most have Derrick Henry being selected 1st overall by the SFL All Stars.

• HB Ezekiel Elliott: Another strong back [STR = 80] who breaks tackles [BTK = 85]… and is VERY game ready [AWR = 61]. Has been known to lack ball security [CAR = 68]… but I doubt that scare many off from selecting this STUD in the top half of the 1st round.

• HB Jordan Howard: Another guy who rarely missed visiting the weightroom [STR = 80], also runs right through arm tackles [BTK = 82]. Will be interesting to see how Howard holds up… was known to miss time when ding’d up [INJ = 74]. He’s a LOCK to be selected in the 1st round.
