Rookie Position Review: WR
WR – Collectively, I think we can all agree that height, SPD and ACC are KING when it comes to a WR! For me… a LEGIT STUD would come in at HTG = 6’4”+ / SPD = 95+ / ACC = 95 [there’s only 9 players currently in the SFL that fit the bill]. This draft class isn’t going to provide anyone that will closely resemble the likes of WR Jonathan Baldwin – a bit thin compared to past draft classes.
• WR Michael Thomas: He has respectable height [6’2”] and can take the top off a defense [SPD = 97 / ACC = 99]. Thomas is also a student of the game [AWR = 64] who has VERY good hands [CTH = 82]. He’s GREASY in and out of cuts and loose in the hips [AGI = 97] but lacks strength [STR = 28] and isn’t going to win many jump ball situations [JMP = 72].
• Devin Lucien: Not a clear cut #1 target… but certainly viable as a #2 of excellent slot guy. Again, a guy that can keep a defense honest and will be a vertical threat [SPD = 95 / ACC = 97] while his route running lacks at times, and hands need to be developed [AWR = 54 / CTH = 72].
• WR Tyreek Hill: WORLD CLASS top end speed and QUICK out of the blocks [SPD = 99 / ACC = 96]… but, undisciplined route runner [AWR = 48] and slight frame has him positioned as a slot receiver – but could be leveraged in the kick return game.
