Pablo E.’s 2016 SFL Mock Draft, FINAL
Let’s GOOOOOOOO
1.1
HB Derrick Henry, Alabama
We thought we had a generational talent in Gurley last season but what does that make Henry? He’s just as fast and even bigger. It should be fun watching this runaway freight train embarrass defenders with bruising highlight reel runs.
1.2
CB T.J. Green
Green is too big to be this fast, and it’s that kind of rare athletic profile that’s going to have him going #2 overall despite being raw.
1.3
CB James Bradberry, Samford
Lions felt comfortable parting with CB Claiborne for this pick, and I suspect they have their eyes on a taller talent at CB. It is known that the Lions front office prefers bigger corners, and Bradberry is just that with max-out potential at SPD/AGI/ACC.
1.4
HB Jordan Howard, Indiana
Howard has all the tools to be an elite HB. A great combination of size and speed, his only concern would be his injury rating.
1.5
HB Ezekiel Elliot, Ohio State
Lions may trade back and rock out with Mendenhall, but I think Zeke proves too tempting. If Ridley was traded, Mendenhall isn’t Detroit’s long term solution.
1.6
WR Michael Thomas, Ohio State
Chiefs traded two 2nd round selections with pick 1.12 to move into this position. Thomas is the premier receiver in the draft with virtually no holes in his game, unless you value strength in a wide out.
1.7
FS Deiondre’ Hall, Northern Iowa
Hall is entering dear Sabby’s territory with his size and incredible speed potential. Even with less-than-desirable awareness, Hall can make an impact by limiting just a couple of would-be home run plays.
1.8
QB Jared Goff, California
Goff is just 22 with potentially class-leading awareness and a good THP/THA base to start his career in N.O.
1.9
QB Nate Sudfeld
Steelers acquired the mentor in Woodson, now the mentee in Sudfeld. The 21-year old is a worthy understudy with his powerful arm that gives him extra time when he inevitable hits his regression age.
1.10
OT Laremy Tunsil, Ole Miss
San Diego brass isn’t sold on their current RT pieces, but there’s no need to sell anyone on Tunsil. Not only does he check the physical boxes, his PBK/RBK skills are already borderline elite.
1.11
DE Joey Bosa, Ohio State
It would make sense given old man Peppers was brought in on a one-year deal. Bosa can be taken under the vet’s wing for a year.
1.12
OLB Kevin Dodd, Clemson
Dodd can probably match current LOLB Robinson’s production as a rookie, and only get better.
1.13
DE Yannick Ngakouwe
Panthers could use some youth on the defensive line with regressing vets RE Tommie Harris hitting FA and LE Dwight Freeney (now 36) still on the roster. Ngakouwe can probably rush the passer effectively immediately.
1.14
SS Kevin Byard, Mid Tennessee State
Saints come back to scoop another need with elite talent, this time at SS. Byard has rare speed and should help at least take away some explosive plays from the opposition to start his NFL career.
1.15
CB Jalen Ramsey, Florida State
G-Men have a need for fresh blood in the secondary. While Ramsey isn’t elite physically, he’s good enough. Combine it with good awareness, CTH and TAK, Ramsey should be a starter in little time.
1.16
DT Kenny Clark, UCLA
DT’s aren’t usually sexy picks, but Clark might be. His plus size, brute strength, elite agility and acceleration for a defensive tackle is enticing for anyone looking to upgrade their trenches
1.17
WR Devin Lucian, Arizona State
Colts begin to bring in wideouts to groom as their WR corps are approaching regression. Lucien has good size and potentially elite speed.
1.18
C.J. Ham, Austin Peay
That boy thick. It’s going to be like Ron Dayne and Tiki Barber all over again with Ham joining current starter Billy Sims—the new Thunder and Lightning. He’ll deny it but I know Romeo is jealous.
1.19
DE DeForest Buckner, Oregon
Buckner is a big man who can move at defensive end. He can play well in any scheme.
1.20
TE Nick Vannett, Ohio State
Vikings are going with the young QB and have already brought in veteran giant WR James Hardy. Vannett would be a security blanket with big-play potential given his elite speed.
1.21
OLB Darron Lee, Notre Dame
Lee could potentially have 90+ speed, and currently only 1 other outside linebacker in the league matches that(Saints Kwon Alexander, 91). He could probably start week 1.
1.22
WR Cody Core, Ole Miss
King Henry likes when his wideouts block, and Core is the best in this class at it, maybe the best in all of the SFL.
1.23
OT Ronnie Stanley
Bengals current starting right tackle has hit 30, and Stanley is probably too good to pass up at this point regardless.
1.24
WR Josh Doctson, TCU
Phins addressed their hole at RG but have since dealt WR James Hardy, and now they set their focus on the receiver room.
1.25
OT John Theus, Georgia
Theus is talented enough to step in from day one and attempt to sure up the massive hole on the right side of this line.
1.26
MLB B.J. Goodson, Clemson
Probably the best name I’ve seen in some time, and he happens to be a freak— just how Seattle likes them.
1.27
WR Will Fuller, Notre Dame
1.28
QB Christian Hackenberg, Penn State
Bears would love a tight end here, but unfortunately there’s no Blake Bell in this draft. Hackenberg can ride the pine for two seasons while learning from another fellow gunslinger who’s among the best in the league.
1.29
DE Anthony Zettel, Penn State
Kruger is back, but eventually this kid will send him away forever.
1.30
OG Cody Whitehair, Kansas State
1.31
CB DeAndre CarsonHouston, Northern Iowa
.
1.32
WR Tyreek Hill, West Carolina
9ers add a speed demon to an already explosive offense. Tyreek could man the slot and serve as a return man.
