If focus on win, this league can be extremely frustrating cause Madden and Football by nature are that way, I’ve lost the count of the times I’ve been mad watching a game, sad after a loss, even angry at myself because I decision I took both at game planning or team building.
2 Minutes drives are extremely painful to watch, the comebacks, or just the QB missing open targets or CB allowing a dumb long TD. It is very hard to endure that, but I’ve made myself a promise to never get angry or sad over a Madden game again, being a competitive person that loves both the game and the league that’ll be a hard challenge, but I’m decided to.
On this article I’ll share the thoughts that I will follow, not expecting this to tell anyone how to act, or nothing close just a personal pov.
Whenever you lose, someone wins
I really like thinking this when lose a game or a trade, I like the people on this league, and consider GM’s as friends, so whenever I lose, someone is winning, so instead of being sad about myself can be happy about the person on the other side of screen
Game is about % and possibilities
Every action can be done as GM: Team building and game planning, just increase the possibilities of win, but end of day, depends on luck for have success. There’s a quote I like that apply for this scenario and basically everything at life.
God, give me grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed
Courage to change the things which should be changed
And the Wisdom to distinguish the one from the other
Simming games is a waste of time
This might be a biased opinion, for someone Simming might work and gives an advantage, even for myself I can say that simming have helped me to see certain things on PB, but if I could go back on time I would’ve never sim a single game, I’ve lost time doing it for nothing. Till today I have no idea about which PB is better for what thing.
So never in my life running a sim again, instead I’ll be playing scrims, the situation is very similar, with the big difference there’s another person watching the game with you. From a sanity aspect is better to do this with someone else that alone.
Team build gotta be fun, is not a job
Ironic I’m saying this being one of the most obsessive GM’s in terms of team building, but here is probably the only point I don’t regret anything, building my teams always have been a fun experience, and something I like keeping on mind are 2 things, NFL or basically any professional sport teams do moves that makes no sense, and they’re being pay millions for do their job. I can do as many mistakes as I want. And if do mistakes on it, well, as said at the start of the article, someone would be winning from it.
Grateful to be on the league
The most important thing is that we have a free league that gives us hours of fun, with persons that share a common hobby, for myself that’s amazing. I’m thankful with the persons that use their time for run this league, and whenever I have the chance and can add something I will. I like to think Madden is just the cover we use for have a motive to be here, so I won’t let it to piss me off anymore.
