2017 SFL MOCK DRAFT V1.0
1.1- New York Giants- QB Mitchell Trubisky- North Carolina
Even with Jordan Palmer in the mix, I feel Mitch Trubisky makes the most sense, anytime you have a rookie QB in the 70's for AWR he's worthy of the 1.1 pick plus his 95 THP and 87 THA is top notch also, as an added bonus he's only 22 years old.
1.2- New York Giants- QB Patrick Mahomes- Texas Tech
Mahomes like Trubisky makes a ton of sense for the Saints, he's only 22, mid 60's AWR, 93 THP and an impressive 89 THA makes him a great candidate to become the franchise signal caller and possible savior of the Saints.
1.3- Oakland Raiders- CB Marlon Humphrey- Alabama
I would 100% take Marlon Humphrey if he fell to me here at 3, BPA regardless of position (within reason). He's a 6'1" corner with the possibility of 99 SPD/97 AGI/99 ACC, only 21 years old, late 60's AWR, solid JMP and will immediately start at NCB for us this season.
1.4- New England Patriots- CB Cordrea Tankersly- Clemson
I think the Patriots are looking at a CB here and there are some good ones not named Humphrey who went 1 pick before him. Tankersly is a solid all around prospect, tall, blazing speed, mid 60's AWR, elite JMP to go with solid TAK and CTH, very worthy of a top 5 pick if his skew remains the same or increases.
1.5- Atlanta Falcons- TE Evan Engram- Ole Miss
I agree with a certain GM that the Falcons go TE but I think it will be Engram here. Kittle has the speed but is inferior at just about every other major attribute. His SPD/ACC/CTH will make him 1 of the top tightends in the SFL and a solid target for Blake Bortles.
1.6- Chicago Bears- WR Mike Williams- Clemson
Williams is an absolute stud at 6'4" he will pair with 6'3" Donte Moncrief and 6'4" Devin Funchess to form a scary trio and they still have veteran Eric Decker who was the leading WR last year. He has elite speed, burst and almost 70 AWR, I'm actually thinking now why I won't be taking him at 3
.
1.7- San Diego Chargers- SS Eddie Jackson- Alabama
As soon as the draft class came out and I saw Eddie Jackson I immediately said he'll be a Charger. He isn't the biggest safety ain the SFL but makes up for it with his possible record breaking SPD for his position, to add to the elite athletic ability he's also extremely smart, moderate to elite JMP with above average TAK, the only thing he lacks is CTH but probably the easiest to work on, he'll be a probowler in no time.
1.8- Baltimore Ravens- WR Kenny Golladay- Northern Illinois
Golladay gives the Ravens a huge 6'4" target with elite SPD/AGI/ACC, above average CTh and elite JMP, he should fit in very nicely opposite Jeffrey to give them a dangerous 1-2 punch. As an added bonus Golladay also offers KR ability if they so choose to put him out there.
1.9- San Diego Chargers- DE Myles Garrett- Texas A&M
Garrett gives the Chargers a solid replacement for Demarcus Lawrence who was traded. He has excellent size at 6'4" 268 lbs, borderline elite SPD/ACC combo, solid football IQ and an above average tackler. He could come in and start immediately.
1.10- Houston Texans- QB Deshaun Watson- Clemson
Watson is another very solid QB in this class, he has the football IQ, arm STR and throwing accuracy that you look for in a franchise QB and just 22 years old, all pluses. I see him mentoring behind Ryan for 2 seasons before taking over the reigns.
1.11- Green Bay Packers- WR Juju Smith-Schuster- USC
Smith -Schuster gives the Packers a solid deep threat on every play on the outside, 6'2" 99 SPD/99AGI/99 ACC to go along with 84 CTh and 86 JMP makes him 1 of the best on this class, he should start immediately and make a huge impact.
1.12- Miami Dolphins- OLB T.J. Watt- Wisconsin
Obviously 1 of my favorite players in this class, Watt is an elite all around athlete, he has the size and athletic ability to get to the QB on every play, elite closing SPD, he should be a pro bowl caliber player right out of the gate.
1.13- Indianapolis Colts- WR Chris Godwin- Penn State
Godwin is another top flight WR much in the mold of my WR Clay but has 99 SPD/99 AGI/99 ACC potential at 6'1", he has excellent football IQ to go along with elite JMP.
1.14- Jacksonville Jaguars- OLB Matt Milano- Boston College
Milano is a beast, a bit undersized at 6'0" but other than that he has elite level athletic ability, his STR allows him to play in any scheme, excellent AWR and will just need to work on TAK.
1.15- San Diego Chargers- OT Cam Robinson- Alabama
Death, taxes and the Chargers taking a OL somewhere in the 1st round. Robinson to me is the cream of the crop of the OT in this class. 6'6" 310 lbs, unreal STR with off the charts athletic ability, his blocking is adequate or at least better than most.
1.16- Indianapolis Colts- DE Jonathan Allen- Alabama
Another solid DE in this class with the ability to rush the passer and get to the RB in the backfield, not as polished as Garrett but at 6'3" 291 lbs. which makes him scheme friendly, he also has excellent football IQ and TAK.
1.17- Dallas Cowboys- TE George Kittle- Iowa
I think this is where Kittle starts to get looked at, his SPD may be too hard to pass up at this stage and could end up being the most athletic TE in the SFL which Cowboys had a void since trading away Sims.
1.18- Oakland Raiders- SS Jabril Peppers- Michigan
I do like James Sample but he isn't progressing as quickly as I'd like and Peppers would be a solid add. He isn't the biggest S but athletic, smart and a solid tackler.
1.19- New York Jets- CB Tre'Davious White- LSU
I think White will be undervalued because he isn't 6' + but has the potential to be 99 99 99 corner, elite JMP and solid all around attributes. He could get some time at NCB for a year in NY and should have an all pro career.
1.20- Tampa Bay Buccaneers- DE Davon Godchaux- LSU
Davon would make an excellent 3-4 DE, his SPD would be a great fit for what he wants to do and the STR to shed tackles with ease. He has top notch closing SPD and could really wreak havoc in the Bucs scheme.
1.21- Dallas Cowboys- DE Daeshon Hall- Texas A&M
Hall has all the tools you looks for at the position, the size at 6'5" 270 lbs, the athletic ability will allow him to rush the passer with solid closing speed. I really like Hall who can come in and compete right away if need be.
1.22- Indianapolis Colts- OL Julie'n Davenport- Bucknell
Davenport is right up there with Robinson and it starts with his good size 6'6" 315 lbs. , athletic and he's actually one of the better blockers in this draft class which is rare. He should be able to hal;t the bull rush immediately with his 98 STR as well.
1.23- Dallas Cowboys- SS Justin Evans- Texas A&M
Evans is another solid S prospect, only 6'0" but a freakish athlete, excellent starting IQ, borderline elite JMP and excellent TAK make him a solid get for the Boys.
1.24- Cleveland Browns- ILB Kendell Beckwith- LSU
Beckwith will fall I just don't know how far but the Browns get an absolute stud here, he could be the unicorn of the league at his position. 6'2" 252 lbs gives him good size, excellent athletic freak of nature, decent STR, he'll be able to drop back into coverage and above average TAK to boot.
1.25- Miami Dolphins- OL Sam Tevi- Utah
Tevi is another OL I really like, the reason I state OL is because I think the Dolphins draft him and put him at G at least in his 1st couple of years where I think he'd be dominant. 6'5" 315 lbs, very athletic and quick on his feet plus excellent AWR, the theme of this draft for OL is the blocking which he'll need to work on.
1.26- Denver Broncos- OLB Vince Biegel- Wisconsin
Biegel is another solid OLB in this class, he has the size most GM's covet 6'4" 245 lbs., plenty of athletic ability that will allow him to get to the QB or RB in the backfield and solid starting football IQ but will need to work on TAK at the next level which shouldn't be too difficult.
1.27- Arizona Cardinals- FS Malik Hooker- Ohio State
Malik is a solid all around S in this class, if he skews up in any of the categories he could be an elite talent at the position. He's 6'2" which is a plus, very athletic and starts out with 69 AWR which is awesome for a rookie and could come in and be an instant starter day 1 with those attributes.
1.28- Pittsburgh Steelers- ILB Trey Hendrickson- Florida A&M
Current ILB Frank Zombo had a great season and has decent stats but Hendrickson could come in and start immediately and should have more of an impact, he can play in any scheme at 6'4" 270 lbs but also has unreal athletic ability and an above average tackler.
1.29- Pittsburgh Steelers- DT Jaleel Johnson- Iowa
Jaleel Johnson looks like he can play in any scheme, his size STR combo makes him great for a 3-4 but factor in his athletic ability for a guy his size and he can also play in the 4-3. I like his starting TAK as well but wilol need to work on the AWR at the SFL level (not sure it means much for a DT though).
1.30- Pittsburgh Steelers- WR Josh Malone- Tennessee
Malone could be a real weapon for Pittsburgh possibly in the slot role year 1 until Mitchell hits regression the following year. 21 years old, 6'3", blazing fast with acceleration that can take the top off of defenses on any given play, borderline elite hands.
1.31- Seattle Seahawks- OG Michael Dunn- Maryland
Seems like a Rock type of pick, athletic freak of nature at the position that also fits a need. Good sioze at 6'5" 315 lbs, strong as an ox and again he will have to work on his blocking.
1.32- Dallas Cowboys- OT David Sharpe- Florida
Sharpe is 1 of my favorite OL in this draft class, 6'5" 350+ lbs, solid athletic ability but like every prospect along the OL he will need to work on PBK and RBK at the SFL level.
