It's a me, Mario!
Welcome to the yearly edition of the SFL tournament, hosted by your friend Apolo Shapiro, last season we played in Gotham, and now it's time to take our coins, ride a Yoshi and visit the mushroom kingdom!
After a close vote process, and decided at the end by a wheel spin, Mario Bros franchise will be the theme for our tournament, all the content tournament related will have reference to the franchise, i've always enjoyed playing a good mario but i'm an occasional player and my glory times were on Super Mario World for Snes, so havent played most of the new titles, so if anyone wants to offer ideas for the content please feel free to dm me.
One thing is sure, we'll have a good time, and good content will be created
But going back to the football aspect, this is a tournament, and our goal is to find a champion at the end, who'll rescue princess peach?
For this season, i'm trying to do some changes in competition format, all with 1 idea:
More games, more fun
I'll be able to play 2 or even 3 games if needed during no league games days, and an important change will be made, the preffered time for play games last tournament was at night, around 8:30 et, while that time window still will sometimes be used, now we're focusing to an early morning tournament! Gotham nights are past behind us, and now we're focused on a sunny day at Mario world.
I need to know the ammount of participants before release a final format but the main idea is to have lives, just as in Mario, I don't want it to be a tournament where teams go 1 and out. So my idea is to have a format on 2 phases, during first phase of tournament we can have a pool or multiple pools of teams (groups) with multiple games to be played, once lose 3 games, teams are eliminated, till we have 8 final teams.
When we have 8 teams, we move to the final stage, a traditional bracket of winner advance and loser is eliminated.
This will result in a longer tournament, and more games played, the broadcast aspect is ready for handle it, i did study my times, and can run it without problems, as will broadcast games at morning when my PC is doing nothing and i'm doing other things. Now it's important to know how you guys feel about it, the tournament would be a bit longer than past one, and is not the traditional bracket format, but can be fun.
Please leave on the comments, your thoughs, also this is the oficial signup post, i'll add teams that replied on the other post here as participants but would appreciate if can confirm participation just to be sure.
