My favourite part of the calendar is the draft. I, like many others, will pore over the draft class, pore over my roster, who is a free agent, who is nearing regression.
I thought it would be fun to review each team's draft class and my favourite selection.
3.30 CB Quincy Wilson, Florida | My Big Board: 2nd round
Attributes:
Age: 21
Height: 6-0
Weight: 209lbs
Overall: 79
Speed: 93
Strength: 56
Awareness: 62
Agility: 93
Acceleration: 98
Catch: 62
Jump: 96
Tackle: 58
Analysis - Wilson had a great skew but he already looked promising. Just 21 years old, he is an absolute steal at the end of the 3rd round. A legit starter out of the gate, will be an excellent corner for years to come.
1.24 QB Brad Kaaya, Miami | My Big Board: 2nd round
Attributes:
Age: 21
Height: 6-4
Weight: 215lbs
Overall: 75
Speed: 60
Strength: 52
Awareness: 57
Throw Power: 99
Throw Accuracy: 82
Analysis - Kaaya's most promising attributes are his age and arm. He can be mentored and sent to training camp and its not a recipe I haven't studiously followed. The Browns need to be patient with this investment.
1.16 LE Johnathan Allen, Alabama | My Big Board: Top 10
Attributes:
Age: 22
Height: 6-3
Weight: 291lbs
Overall: 90
Speed: 80
Strength: 73
Awareness: 70
Agility: 81
Acceleration: 87
Jump: 64
Tackle: 80
Analysis - I loved this pick - I scouted Allen and he was a consideration for me at 12, originally. He and Myles Garrett are the most polished defensive ends to come out ever and I envisage double digit sacks for both for seasons to come.
2.9 CB Marshon Lattimore, Ohio State | My Big Board: 2nd round
Attributes:
Age: 21
Height: 6-0
Weight: 195lbs
Overall: 80
Speed: 92
Strength: 50
Awareness: 63
Agility: 89
Acceleration: 95
Catch: 70
Jump: 88
Tackle: 64
Analysis - It was between Lattimore and Malone but I went with Lattimore. He doesnt have top end agility but with some investment and progression, he will be an excellent corner back. Again, being 21 adds value.
