2019 SFL MOCK DRAFT V1.0 (HERE A MOCK, THERE A MOCK, EVERYWHERE A MOCK, MOCK!)
THIS MOCK DRAFT WAS IN THE PROCESS WHEN I FOUND OUT THE DRAFT CLASS WAS MESSED UP, I WILL REDO THIS MOST LIKELY AFTER PRE SEASON BUT DONT WANT TO GO ON KNOWING ITS ALL WRONG, MORE THAN USUAL ANYHOW LOL
1.1- Denver Broncos- DE Nick Bosa- Ohio State
The DL needs a boost, only 9 combined sacks last season by the DE's isn't acceptable. Nick Bosa could be record breaking with a positive skew but even if the SPD skews down he should still be a stud and help out Tim Miller and that defense for years to come.
1.2- Tampa Bay Buccaneers- QB Gardner Minshew- Washington State
It looks like Minshew mania is about to spread rampant in Tampa and would be an excellent replacement for Kirk Cousins when his number is up. Only 21 years old, excellent starting AWR, a howitzer for an arm that is fairly accurate, the INJ is the biggest concern but the rest outweighs that imo.
1.3- Baltimore Ravens- WR A.J. Brown- Ole Miss
Brown isn't as big as some of the others at 6'1" 225 lbs. but he has the "IT" factor, blazing speed, elite AGI/ACC and elite CTH. Pretty much a plug and play WR right out of the gate and I bet GM Norbert Huszti would be licking his chops to get him.
1.4- San Francisco 49ers- WR D.K. Metcalf- Ole Miss
That's right back to back Ole Miss WR's and this time it's 6'4" 235 lbs. Metcalf who is slightly less polished as Brown above him but should still be a solid pickup for them. Metcalf has excellent speed, solid hands, and will be excellent against contested catches in the league but will have to work on his football AWR at the pro level.
1.5- Indianapolis Colts- TE T.J. Hockenson- Iowa
This was an easy 1 for me since there is familiarity with the player and could have record breaking SPD, even if his SPD skews down a bit he'll be a top notch TE. He gives Sudfeld a big target, has decent starting AWR and an excellent set of hands to boot.
1.6- Oakland Raiders- CB Rock Ya-Sin- Temple
This dude is a beast at 6'2" 190 lbs. , has a good chance to be a 99 SPD/99 AGI/99 ACC who can come in year 1 in the slot corner role and learn from 2 ballers in Humphreys and Gilmore. Rock has potential to be in the same mold as theHumphrey who I drafted last season but will need to work on his AWR which should go up in the slot.
1.7- Carolina Panthers- RB Tony Pollard- Memphis
We acquired this trade with the new Chargers GM Gary Cohen for 1.17, 2.17 and 3.17. We need to look to the future at positions and RB Pollard is top notch. I really like his 6'0" 209 lbs frame, 77 STR, 70 starting AWR is awesome, excellent speed/closing burst and his CAR/BTK are decent as well also for an added bonus he can be a returner which I would never do.
1.8- Carolina Panthers- QB Kyler Murray- Oklahoma
It's no surprise here we're in dire need of a signal caller and although his height at 5'10" isn't ideal and the fact that we need to change his tendency from a scrambler to balanced as well. There is also alot to like here, he has solid starting AWR, has a heck of arm, solid starting accuracy and the INJ is less scary than that of Minshew.
1.9- Jacksonville Jaguars- WR Terry McLaurin- Ohio State
Scary Terry lands in Jacksonville, he isn't the biggest dude at 6'0" 210 lbs but he brings a solid set of skills and is very athletic. He has a chance to be 99 SPD/99 AGI/99 ACC WR and would add to a core that is surely lacking in that department.
1.10- Cincinnati Bengals- SS Marquise Blair- Utah
This is a good draft to need a strong safety as i see a couple of solid options but Blair at 6'2" 195 lbs. seems to be the guy who sticks out the most for me. His record 97 SPD would be the best this league has ever seen and even if that skews down 3, it can still het to 97 with progression and AP. But he's not all just SPD, he comes with decent football IQ, decent hands, excellent at contested catches and almost elite tackling right out of the gate.
1.11- Miami Dolphins- SS Sheldrick Redwine- Miami
I told you this was a solid draft for SS and Redwine is another stud who will if not starting out comes with world class speed which cannot be taught. He'd be a perfect fit for the Phins who have Harrison but on the verge of regression can sit a year behind 1 of the best and learn until he's ready to take over. I didn't feel he was as polished as far as CTH/JMP or TAK so I put him a notch below Blair but it's whatever GM's prefer.
1.12- Tennessee Titans- WR Jalen Hurd- Baylor
The Titans are stacked just about everywhere I do see an opening in the slot, what better player to have than a 6'5" mismatch like Jalen Hurd? He's not just a big guy, with 95 SPD/90 ACC he can also motor, his hands are also top notch but will definitely need to work on his AWR ar rhe pro level.
1.13- Oakland Raiders- WR Deebo Samuel- South Carolina
The Raiders new GM solidified the secondary with CB Rock Ya-sin and now comes back and grabs a solid WR addition to the core in Deebo Samuel who's a bigger version of Tyreek Hill who's been more of a return specialist the past years. Samuel has explosive speed, excellent burst, excellent starting football AWR and great hands, I see him filling for the sklot WR role.
1.14- Cleveland Browns- CB Sean Murphy-Bunting- Central Michigan
I think I've been mocking the Browns a CB for like 4 years now but they keep truckin. I do see a need at the position this year alongside stud corner Walt Aikens. Bunting is 6'0" with great athletic ability, solid starting football AWR, borderline elite JMP plus solid tackler. The only area he'll need to work on are those pedestrian hands.
1.15- Oakland Raiders- ROLB Andrew Van Ginkel- Wisconsin
Kyle Wilner is getting a little bit long in the tooth and I'm not sure if the Phil Mellon thinks Joshua Perry is the answer but if not Andrew Van Ginkel looks pretty impressive. He has good size, solid athlete but with an even better skew could be a steal plus a solid tackler who can learn behind Wilber for a year.
1.16- New England Patriots- RT Greg Little- Ole Miss
Ole Miss representing in this class as Little will be the 3rd in the top 10. He's also a load at 6'6" 325 lbs. with game changing strength able to move the opposition with ease. He's 1 of the most athletic in this class especially at his size, he has decent AWR but will need to improve that at the next level and comes as an already adequate pass and run blocker.
1.17- San Diego Chargers- CB Isaiah Johnson- Houston
The new GM of the SB runner ups Gary Cohens 1st draft with his new team. Not sure what to give a team that seems pretty stacked everywhere but maybe some lack of future depth at CB? Johnson could easily go higher due to his size and if he skews up but i think as is this is around where he could go. His size is incredible for his position and he's athletic for a corner of his stature, his AWR and CTH are just average but his JMP and TAK are top notch.
1.18- New York Giants- OL Tytus Howard- Alabama State
At 6'6" 308 lbs the Giants could put him anywhere along the OL but would probably shine at RT, he's very athletic for a guy of his size with outstanding STR and already decent run and pass blocking.
