Frankenstein- SFL Style
By Bryan Mellon

Well I know about a couple hours late but in true Halloween style let's talk about Frankenstein, SFL style.

What I'm talking about is what kind of freak monster have you thought of trying out to see if it would work in the SFL or Madden leagues in general? I'm not talking about the 6'6" WR with 95 speed as we all know a guy like that is going to produce. I'm talking about going the opposite way of what's popular and trying something unique.

For example last season I had my eye on what looked like an absolute scrub FS, Corey Hall.

The things which caught my eye was his height of 6'4". I thought, "Could the crazy height outweigh other attributes such as his ridiculously low awareness and sub par acceleration. The speed of 84 I could deal with. In the end I started him a game or two and went with someone else. Had he been a rookie or 1st year pro I probably would have gave him a better shot.

Something else I've often wondered is how well a large and strong yet slow DT would work at LE. I have no information to back this up but I want to believe a big 300+ # guy with great strength (mid to high 90's) and high 70's acceleration would be a force even with speed in the 50's to 60's. I'm one who believes acceleration is ket at LE. I'd like to thing the size and strength could nullify the low speed of such a player.

At any rate, I thought a a festive topic like this may make for an interesting topic while our commish is taking care of real life duties.
