2004 SFL MOCK DRAFT (1-16)

This is a tough league to predict since there are some GM's who I've never been in another league with so I don't really know the tendencies but I'll give this a whirl. If I get your pick wrong just tell me who you're taking to make it easier on me Cool I tried to finish it tonight/this morning but I ran out of time and hopefully I'll get a chance to do it tomorrow.

1.1- Tennessee Titans- QB Philip Rivers- N.C. State
This is a pretty easy one, he is the best QB in this draft class and should be and unless GM Gary Cohen is on a cocaine and hooker bender aka Michael Irvin style then this is a no brainer.

1.2- Dallas Cowboys- QB Ben Roethlisberger- Miami Of Ohio
It's hard to say here between Eli or Big Ben but that 78 AWR has to be exciting the Cowboys GM and he has the points to change his tendency. He's got a NFL frame, a strong arm and accuracy to boot, with the right playbook he can lead you to victory for sure.

1.3- Arizona Cardinals- OT Tyson Clabo- Wake Forest
Tyler has to be licking his chops at the prospect of Tyson Clabo, he may be the most athletic OT I've seen in these drafts, he'll need to work on the AWR and blocking but those come naturally. You can't teach athleticism and Clabo has the quickest feet I've seen on a OL.

1.4- Arizona Cardinals- LOLB Karlos Dansby- Auburn
I tried to be different with these picks but they seem like no brainers to me and even if Tyler thinks that OLB isn't as valuable he already discarded WR Roy Williams in another forum so unless it's another WR prospect I just don't see another choice.

1.5- Jacksonville Jaguars- QB Eli Manning- Ole Miss
The Jags could go in many different directions here but the one that makes the most sense is QB and Eli manning is sitting there with his high AWR and looking like a solid all around prospect, he could change their fortunes right away.

1.6- Detroit Lions- WR Roy Williams- Texas
I'm not going to lie the prospect of having Roy Williams alongside of newly acquired Dez White from the Raiders gets me fired up, that would be a brand new WR filled with fun, shiny new toys and big targets for QB Byron Leftwich to throw to, I have 6 guys already on my list he's definitely on it, I'll get one of the 6 and every single one of them would help my team immensely.

1.7- Minnesota Vikings- RB Steven Jackson- Oregon State
In most cases I'm going for the guy with the most athleticism for Neal to take but in this case I think Jackson is just too good to pass up, he's an absolute wrecking ball at 6'1" 241 lbs. , 82 STR (I don't even know what that does and it makes me do this Shocked ). To go along with that he has 79 CTH, imagine this nightmare in the open field? I can stop the run as it is and I'm already losing sleep over it.

1.8- Chicago Bears- OLB Teddy Lehman- Oklahoma
There's only 1 other LB with the athletic freak ability like Karlos Dansby and that's Teddy Lehman. There hasn't been much production from that spot but I think the presence of Teddy will change that.

1.9- Chicago Bears- CB Deangelo Hall- Virginia Tech
He's pretty much the complete prospect and maybe the safest pick in the draft, this isn't the league of giant corners yet and Hall fits the mold of what this league is and will be around for quite some time since he's only 20, yay and the Bears are another division rival so it will be a nice Williams vs. Hall rival I hope for many years.

1.10- New Orleans Saints- CB Chris Gamble- Ohio State
The average CB on the Saints is 3 billion years old, it's time for an influx of youth at the position and you have the 6'1" Chris Gamble who can hang with virtually anyone in this league sitting here for you, seems like a good fit.

1.11- Cincinnati Bengals- DT Tommy Harris- Oklahoma
The Bengals were very average up the middle in just about every category from only getting 6 sacks combined from the 2 starters, I got 6 sacks just from Stroud and another 8 from my rookie. Harris is an athletic freak who will get to the QB but should be strong enough to penetrate against the run as well.

1.12- Buffalo Bills- RG Shawn Andrews- Arkansas
I tried a bunch of scenarios but Andrews made the most sense here in the end, I don't like taking guards this high unless they're special and Andrews is a physical specimen with a blend of power and athleticism. Not many are moving this 6'4"366 lbs. behemoth.

1.13- Seattle Seahawks- RT Robert Gallery- Iowa
Gallery has the size, the athletic ability, the blocking, if Clabo wasn't such a freak I think Gallery would be the first OT taken. He has the STR to PAN anyone, the feet to swing out and block down field, this is definitely a Rock pick.

1.14- Philadelphia Eagles- ILB Courtney Watson- Notre Dame
If there's a glaring need for the Iggles it's at ILB and Watson seems to be a real good fit. He isn't huge in stature but he has enough STR to shed blocks but he's a real good athlete who can move sideline to sideline, already an above average tackler and won't be a liability in coverage.

1.15- Arizona Cardinals- ILB Landon Johnson- Purdue
Johnson is cut from the exact same cloth as Watson who went above him, he isn't huge in stature but he is able to get to the QB, get to the RB, get out in coverage and defend. Coming away with The top OT, top OLB and one of the top 2 ILB is a pretty impressive start for the Cards.

1.16- San Diego Chargers- WR Reggie Williams- Washington
David Boston is a solid WR but he needs some help on the outside, you now have a massive 6'4" 229 lber on 1 side and the 6'2" 240 lbs. Boston on the other, there aren't many corners in this league that can hang with that.
