Way to early Mock draft top 10
By Thomas Riddell
Special to sfl-football.com

Welcome to the first edition of the way too early mock draft
Here's how it works.
We're doing a top 10 mock I've included all the traded pics as well
They are as follows:
1 Jacksonvile 0-5
2 Detroit 0-4
3 Seattle 0-4
4 Carolina Via Kansas city 0-4
5 Denver Via Tennessee 1-4
6 New Orleans 1-4
7 Arizona via Cleveland 1-4
8 Tennessee via new York giants 1-4
9 Buffalo 1-3
10 San Diego via Dallas 2-3

I will then pick a player from a position of what this team could need
during the 2005 draft briefly
explain why I picked that particular position
not necessarily the player

1 CB Adam Jones Height: 5-10 Weight: 185 College: West Virginia
When I look at the Jacksonville roster the need for a top Corner sticks out like a sore thumb I could see Adam Jones coming in there
He's an immediate upgrade over Tim Walmsley or jerametrius Butler
But we really won't know until released the draft class in another few months

2 WR Braylon Edwards Height: 6-3 Weight: 214 College: Michigan
When I look at the lion's that receiving Corps it's tired
They need new blood their best receiver is a 34 year
who is an old over the hill retread
Edwards could only help their Young quarterback
who has struggled due to dropped Passes

3 FS Josh Bullocks Height: 6-0 Weight: 207 College: Nebraska
The Seahawks have a very young experienced free safeties
I just would rather see somebody it's not such a late round pick

4 QB Aaron Rodgers Height: 6-2 Weight: 225 College: California
Darryl usually likes veteran quarterbacks but maybe a guy like Aaron Rodgers can change his mind.
Bernal was not getting any younger and I have no confidence in any of the backups including Gus Frerotte

5 CB Fabian Washington Height: 5-11 Weight: 175 College: Nebraska
If you look at the Broncos secondary
they have a lot of guys who are near the last year their contracts
Washington would be an absolutely great pick here

6 MLB Barrett Ruud Height: 6-2 Weight: 241 College: Nebraska
New Orleans has a decent starting middle linebacker
But looking at the roster the depth behind them when you're playing at 34
Is very lackluster Rudd would be an absolute stud here

7 DT Mike Patterson Height: 6-1 Weight: 300 College: USC
Tyler Richardson is an absolute genius
He's back in the top 10 is this season pans out like I've projected
What I look at the defense of line in Arizona
it's spot where I could see an upgrade
Of course he could always trade out and gather more pics for next year

8 WR Mike Williams Height: 6-5 Weight: 235 College USC
Gary Cohen does this every year he trades around
I'm still comes up with a high pick in the first round
Although they do have a lot of receivers on the roster
None or anything close to a 6'5 235 lb wrecking ball like Williams

9 DT Sione Po'uha Height: 6-3 Weight: 325 College: Utah
Buffalo's best defensive tackle is 32 years old
Po'uha could be the answer on the other side
He could eventually be Williams replacement

10 OLB Derrick Johnson Height: 6-3 Weight: 245 College Texas
San Diego's linebacking Corps has some good pieces
Well another one Falls in their lap if Will does the draft Justice
Ben Johnson will be an absolute nightmare for people in the AFC West

Now these are just projections
Since I don't know how are commissioner will juggle the players And their attributes
but I figured it would be nice to give this a swing
I hope you guys enjoy the entertainment value
