FS Dexter Jackson - Severe concussion - Out for season- Uncomfortable -This one should hurt the Jets a bit, however, their last injury seemed to cause a huge reassurance in their performance, so I kind of expect the same to happen here.
No, I'm not salty about my loss... what would give you that idea?
The Jets are 3-0 since their loss of Cornerback Duane Starks, a feat that I did not expect at all. Duane Starks' injury has lingered much longer than the two weeks first suspected. He may be able to suit up this week, but the loss of Dexter Jackson isn't a fair trade off. Losing a Free Safety isn't quite the same as losing a Cornerback, but Dexter Jackson has no hopes of seeing a future game this season.
Thankfully for the Jets, their backup Safety options are better than most. Zack Bronson is a 6'1", 85 SPD, 76 Awareness safety who could probably start on some teams. Because of this, and because safeties aren't as important as many other positions, I'm going to keep this one relatively modest with an Uncomfortable rating.
WR Tai Streets - Complete MCL tear - Out for season- Intense- With Drew Bledsoe's return, the Broncos were able to get their first win since week 2, but not without some collateral damage. WR Tai Streets does not have the stats to claim that he isn't replaceable, but the Broncos problem comes at their very limited depth options. Boldin, Streets and Kennison are solid receivers, but after that we have Jacquez Green, and Triandos Luke. They each have enough speed to keep themselves from being useless, but I do not consider them decent WR3 or WR4 options, and that's the situation they find themselves in. I believe there might be a trade in the works to help The Broncos deal with this problem, but until I can see the details, I have to pretend that it's not there.
The Broncos are now only one game back from the Chargers, but I think this injury is going to hurt their chances for any late division victory that I've been predicting as of late. I'm going to go with Intense on this one. Streets is neither a star or irreplaceable, but the Broncos already have a tough task in front of them and this makes it all the tougher.
ROLB Nate Wayne - Torn groin - 11 weeks- Mild -The Eagles have a pretty significant lack of talent at Linebacker, and depending on what you're looking for, then Nate Wayne could be considered their best. The only thing keeping the Eagles in the race for the playoffs is the weak NFC East that sees 3 teams leading the division with 3-3 records.
I do not think the Eagles are playoff bound, for I think the Redskins are on their way to a late season push that will leave both the Cowboys and the Eagles in the dust. Because of this, I think that the Eagles are doing themselves a disservice when not starting Pisa Tinoisamoa after they traded a second round pick for him.
Still, the Eagles have a chance at the playoffs and I cannot ignore that in my rating. Since I feel that Pisa getting the start in place of Wayne is probably best for them with what they spent for him, I will only be giving this rating a Mild, up from the no rating I'd give them if they didn't still have a shot at the playoffs.
I do not consider Pisa Tinoisamoa a much better performer than Nate Wayne at this moment. I just consider a second round pick to be valuable enough to not let a player sit on the bench after spending that on him.
LOLB Clark Haggans - Broken hand - 4 weeks- Trivial - The Dolphins trade the return of WR Billy McMullen for the loss of LOLB Clark Haggans. Clark Haggans plays backup Linebacker and probably won't be missed for the four weeks that he'll be gone. Raonall Smith will most likely fill the spot and although he's an inferior option, I don't think the Dolphins will be suffering too much for it. Trivial for this one.
WR Derrick Hamilton - Strained quadricep - 2 weeks- Trivial - Derrick Hamilton has four receptions all season for 45 yards, and is fifth on the Wide Receiver depth chart. Not much more to say.
