Trivial | Mild | Uncomfortable | Distressing | Intense | Excruciating

WR Tamarick Vanover - Broken shoulder - Out for season
- Trivial -

The Titans are two and six in a division with two 6-1 rivals. I think it's safe to say that their season is dead. On top of that, Tamarick Vanover isn't even used in the passing game. He is strictly a returner, so the Titans won't have to worry about this effecting any progression for Philip Rivers.

Nothing to see here. Trivial at best.

WR Darrell Jackson - Broken fibula - 8 weeks
- Mild -

Same team, different receiver. Unlike WR Vanover, WR Jackson is the Titans leading receiver, and has received far more than a third of QB Philip Rivers total yards so far this season, along with 5 of his 8 touchdowns. So far, Philip Rivers is progressing nicely for the Titans, but will this continue to be the case without Darrell Jackson?

The truth is at 6'0" and 92 SPD, I do not consider Jackson irreplaceable. In fact the Titans have a lot of similar WRs on their roster. The only thing that hurts is the loss of progression for Jackson himself. However, at 26 with 85 CTH and 81 AWR, Jackson is not a rough prospect in need of progression and I think he'll be just fine long term.

This isn't trivial, but it's just about there. Going with a very low Mild on this one, but it's borderline Trivial for me.

WR Deion Branch - Abdominal tear - 5 weeks
- Trivial -

This is almost the exact same thing as the first Titans injury. A receiver who only really plays at returner, and hasn't had a great season there either.

Trivial.

- TRANSACTION ALERT -
Signing
CB Terrell Buckley
1 Year - 4.32m/1.73m

If it wasn't for this signing, I probably would have skipped this week altogether. Two Trivials and a Mild are hardly interesting to read or write about.

the Raiders win against the Chargers this week have the Raiders sitting at the top of the division. With the pressure now on, GM Garth Pearce decided to go with a band-aid fix at CB this week with a signing of a former Patriot.

Terrell Buckley sat in FA all off-season and most of the regular season - his height and speed combination just not appealing to anyone. I don't know if GM Pearce is going to start Buckley, or instead see match for match where he should be lined up, but I think this helps the Raiders a lot in the long run.

I rated the injury to Raiders CB Tory James as an Excruciating mostly because of the Raiders relying on their defense to win games, but also because of their horrendous depth at corner. This doesn't quite help the former, but it helps the later. Even if Buckley doesn't start every week, he is still a corner that can pose a problem in limited match ups.

With this signing along with the Raiders leading the division, I'm comfortable lowering the rating of this down a tier. Just a tier though, I still think the injury to Tory James is going to catch up to the Raiders, but they finish the second half of the season with a really forgiving schedule, and currently I would not be shocked to see them finish this season as the division winner.
