* I wanted this to be a better article but I got sick and may end up back in the hospital today.- sorry as this did not turn out the way I had hoped.
It is easy to find studs in the first couple rounds in the SFL draft. Today we are going to take a look at the guys who will be taken towards the end of the draft if at all. While It is rare to get a starter in the 7th round if you can obtain a backup who can hold their own if called upon you are doing a good job.
Last year QB John Navarre was drafted with the 17th pick of the 7th round. Navarre is own his way to have at least a very good backup career. I even think he could be a start eventually. He enters this season with 72 AWR, 87 THP and 84 THA. I actually traded Navarre to the Bills as part of the Steve McNair and Rex Grossman trade. It was almost as hard to lose Navarre as it was to lose McNair.
Below you will see players (in my opinion) players who should be available this year at the end of the draft.
QB?s
Stefan LeFore | 6?0? | 210 #
AWR 52 / THA 87 / THP 88
Lefore is shorter than an ideal QB at 6?0 and it looks like he will be a scrambler which is a huge issue but his THA and THP is going to be great for a backup QB.
Adrian McPherson | 6?3? | 214 #
AWR 45 / THA 86 / THP 78
McPherson is going to be a scrambler with 45 AWR. This cements his spot for a 7th round QB, if he gets drafted at all. The only positive is he would be better than having your punter player QB, I think.
Ryan Fitzpatrick | 6?2? | 221 #
AWR 58 / THA 88 | THA 75
I was surprised to see Fitzpatrick to make my list. I figured he would be a late round pick but after looking at him I?m projecting him to go in the 7th round. His THP is fine withat 88 but his auwful THA of 75 will make him a QB3 or low end QB2.
James Killan | 6?4? | 215 #
AWR 55 / THP 80 / THA 79
While nothing jumps off the draft prep for KIllan he?s a QB who will end up with 80+ THP & THA.
Andrew Walter | 6?5? | 232
AWR 62 / THP 85 / THA 80
Walter has great size at 6?5? and 230 + lbs. His AWR is also on the higher side with 60+. His THP needs to increase a couple points and his THA will be around 80. He will not win a game by himself if called upon but you could do worse for a QB3.
WR?s
Chad Owens | 5?8? | 180 #
AWR 54 / SPD 87 / STR 48 / AGI 84 / ACC 87 / CTH 72 / JMP 88
Okay so the good things about Owens are ?? well nothing. He sucks. He?s slow and tiny. I doubt he?ll get drafted or even ever be signed as a free agent.
Reggie Brown | 6?1? | 194 #
AWR 56 / SPD 88 / STR 65 / AGI 86 / ACC 88 / CTH 80 / JMP 84
Brown has decent size but falls short of a rating of 90 in the important WR areas. His CTH rating of 80 is not too bad though. I think he?s a 7th round pick.
Mark Bradley | 6?1? | 201 #
AWR 51 / SPD 86 / STR 66 / AGI 87 / ACC 84 / CTH 83 / JMP 82
Bradley has decent size but lacks speed and quickness. He does have good CTH though with 83. I think he gets drafted late.
Terrence Murphy | 6?0? | 189 #
AWR 53 / SPD 87 / STR 75 / AGI 87 / ACC 89 / CTH 72 / JMP 85
Murphy has great STR at 75 but just missed 90 at the important areas. I think he gets drafted in the 7th round.
TE?s
Bo Scaife | 6?3? | 249 #
AWR 67 / SPD 69 / STR 77 / AGI 73 / ACC 71 / CTH 73 / JMP 75 / RBK 50 / PBK 50
Scaife has good STR at 77 but horrible SPD at 69 and avg blocking with 50 RBK & PBK. I do not see a very bright future for Scaife however I think he will get drafted late.
Patrick Estes | 6?7? | 310 #
AWR 65 / SPD 72 / STR 76 / AGI 66 / ACC 72 / CTH 75 / JMP 70 / RBK 52 / PBK 55
Estes is slow and un-athletic but he is huge at 6?7 and 300 + lbs. Yes, a TE at 300 + lbs. I am intrigured by his size and think he gets drafted late.
Joel Dreesen | 6?4? | 260 #
AWR 66 / SPD 69 / STR 83 / AGI 72 / ACC 75 / CTH 73 / JMP 77 / RBK 53 / PBK 54
Dressen has great STR at 83 but horrible SPD at 69. I am expecting him to be drafted towards the end of the draft.
RB?s
DeAndra Cobb | 5?10? | 196 #
AWR 45 / SPD 90 / AGI 88 / ACC 89 / STR 57 / CAR 65 / BTK 68
Cobb does not have good size nor anything but avg speed. If he gets drafted it will be in the 7th round.
Maurice Clarett | 6?0 | 220 #
AWR 41 / SPD 85 / AGI 82 / ACC 86 / STR 57 / CAR 77 / BTK 83
Clarett has good sixe at 6?0? and 220 lbs but does not have much else. I still think he gets drafted late in the draft perhaps by name recognition alone.
Lionel Gates | 6?0? | 223 #
AWR 47 / SPD 80 / AGI 77 / ACC 83 / STR 75 / CAR 68 / BTK 68
It is doubtful Gates gets drafted unless someone perhaps drafts him to be converted to a FB?? maybe.
Anthony Davis | 5?7? | 205 #
AWR 65 / SPD 84 / AGI 77 / ACC 83 / STR 54 / CAR 80 / BTK 86
Davis has horrible size but good BTK. If he gets drafted it will be very late in the 7th round.
Vernand Morency | 5?10? | 215 #
AWR 50 / SPD 81 / AGI 74 / ACC 80 / STR 76 / CAR 79 / BTK 72
Morency had good STR at 76 but not much else. If he gets drafted it will be late in the 7th round.
Ryan Moates | 5?8? | 201 #
AWR 53 / SPD 82 / AGI 83 / ACC 89 / STR 75 / CAR 68 / BTK 65
It is questionable Moates and his 5?8? body with horrible SPD (82) gets drafted at all.
Eric Shelton | 6?1? | 246 #
AWR 50 / SPD 80 / AGI 76 | ACC 82 / STR 74 / CAR 72 | BTK 79
Shelton?s future may be at FB as he has the size at 6?1? and 2240 + lbs.
Darren Sproles | 5?6? | 185 #
AWR 53 / SPD 86 / AGI 85 / ACC 90 / STR 74 / CAR 71 / BTK 60
In my opinion Sproles has very little to offer an SFL team but may get drafted late based on name recognition.
Carnell Williams | 5?11? | 217 #
AWR 67 / SPD 81 / AGI 76 / ACC 86 / STR 81 / CAR 77 / BTK 79
Williams has great STR but everything else is mediocre at best however he may get drafted based on name recognition
Ciatrick Fason | 6?0? | 207 #
AWR 49 / SPD 80 / AGI 77 / ACC 82 / STR 75 / CAR 70 / BTK 73
Fason is another player who does not bring much to the table with the exception of offering someone a cheap RB3 roster spot.
Alvin Pearman | 5?9? | 206 #
AWR 57 / SPD 80 / AGI 82 / ACC 87 / STR 58 / CAR 69 / BTK 61
Following the trail blazed by the previous couple of RB?s Pearman sucks and will only provide a cheap RB3 roster spot.
Noah Herron | 5?11? | 218 #
AWR 53 / SPD 80 / AGI 78 / ACC 85 / STR 72 | CAR 71 | BTK 76
Herron is another RB who is going to suffer greatly due to a lack of SPD but may find himself getting drafted late.
Frank Gore | 5?9? | 217 #
AWR 56 / SPD 81 / AGI 79 / ACC 85 / STR 77 / CAR 77 / BTK 79
I was sort of shocked to see Gore make this list. In other Madden leagues Gore has been one of the best RB?s ever but the SFL Madden multiverse is not being kind to Gore. There?s a chance he get?s drafted much earlier, someone in the middle rounds based upon his name but I find next to nothing impressive about Gore with the exception of perhaps his STR.
FB?s
Mehemiah Broughton | 5?11? | 250 #
AWR 55 / SPD 69 / AGI 73 / ACC 76 / STR 79 / CAR 63 / BTK 63 / PBK 37 / RBK 34
Broughton may get drafted as a roster filler for teams who like having two FB?s for special team?s play.
Justin Green | 5?11? | 251 #
AWR 64 / SPD 74 / AGI 77 / ACC 74 / STR 72 / CAR 73 / BTK 65 / PBK 46 / RBK 59
Green similar to Broughton could be drafted as a FB2.
LT?s
Terry Adams | 6?8? | 330 #
AWR 54 / SPD 46 / STR 94 / AGI 55 / ACC 56 / PBK 87 / RBK 82
Adams has amazing size at 6?8? and 330 lbs but is not very athletic and is slow as a turtle. His PBK is good but his RBK is lacking. I think he gets drafted late though based on his great size.
Wesley Britt | 6?8? | 320 #
AWR 58 / SPD 61 / STR 88 / AGI 66 / ACC 68 / PBK 77 / RBK 85
Britt also has great size at 6?8? and 320 lbs however his blocking, especially his PBK is poor. He may get drafted late as a roster filler.
Scott Young | 6?4? | 312 #
AWR 57 / SPD 53 / STR 88 / AGI 61 / ACC 65 / PBK 77 / RBK 70
Young may get drafted late in the 7th round as nothing more than a roster filler.
RT?s
I think there is a chance all the RT?s get drafted prior to the 7th round. I went ahead and listed the one RT I think might still be around late.
Adam Kieft | 6?7? | 337 #
AWR 54 / SPD 48 / STR 94 / AGI 55 / ACC 66 / PBK 80 / RBK 88
Kieft is slow and lacks PBK which is why I think he could drop to the 7th.
LG?s
Trai Essex | 6?6? | 324 #
AWR 54 / SPD 64 / STR 82 / AGI 65 / ACC 69 / PBK 84 / RBK 79
Essex lacks STR and RBK so I think that is why he might drop in the draft.
Justin Geisinger | 6?4? | 322 #
AWR 51 / SPD 53 / STR 91 / AGI 61 / ACC 67 / PBK 81 / RBK 83
Geisinger has decent STR and is a good athlete but has below avg block skills.
RG?s
Zac Yarbrough | 6?6? | 280 #
AWR 58 / SPD 61 / STR 82 / AGI 62 / ACC 70 / PBK 81 / RBK 76
Yarbrough?s STR is a concern and he has below avg blocking skills however he?s a good athlete. At 280 # he is also too light for most GM?s.
C?s
Drew Hodgdon | 6?3? | 309 #
AWR 53 / SPD 63 / STR 83 / AGI 67 / ACC 62 / PBK 83 / RBK 80
Hodgdon?s STR could be a concern for most and barely has adequate blocking skills.
John Denney | 6?5? | 255 #
AWR 58 / SPD 64 / STR 83 / AGI 70 / ACC 74 / PBK 87 / RBK 85
I am most likely going to be wrong with this one as there is a chance a couple GM?s will fall in love with Denney?s AGI and ACC.
K?s & P?s
I?m not doing potential 7th round K?s or P?s as if you need to draft one of those late you are screwed!
DT
Travis Johnson | 6?3? | 296 #
AWR 54 / SPD 68 / STR 79 / AGI 66 / ACC 72 / TAK 80
Johnson has really good SPD but lacks STR. I still think he will be drafted late.
LE
Eric Moore | 6?4? | 268 #
AWR 39 / SPD 66 / STR 79 / AGI 70 / ACC 72 / TAK62
The future is not bright for Mr. Moore. He?s slow, not all that strong and is a horrible tackler.
RE
Mike Montgomery | 6?5? | 275 #
AWR 53 / SPD 66 / STR 85 / AGI 69 / ACC 77 / TAK 71
Montgomery is string but that is about it. He would be nothing more than a
roster spot.
MLB
Robert McCune | 6?1? | 245 #
AWR 56 / SPD 73 / STR 78 / AGI 72 / ACC 73 / TAK 79
McCune has really bad AWR and below avg SPD so I think he drops in this draft.
LOLB
Michael Boley | 6?3? | 236 #
AWR 60 / SPD 72 / STR 81 / AGI 70 / ACC 72 / TAK 79
Boley is not the most gifted when it come to be an athlete. His SPD, AGI and ACC could all end up under ratings of 70. If he gets drafted it will late in the 7th round.
ROLB
DeMarcus Ware | 6?4? | 251 #
AWR 64 / SPD 72 / STR 78 / AGI 72 / ACC 73 / TAK 81
Ware may get drafted earlier than the 7th due to name recognition but in my opinon he is best suited to be drafted late in the 7th round.
CB
Marlin Jackson | 6?1? | 198 #
AWR 61 / SPD 81 / STR 62 / AGI 79 / ACC 80 / TAK 71
Jackson lacks well, everything. I doubt he get?s drafted.
FS
Vincent Fuller | 6?1? | 189 #
AWR 46 / SPD 79 / STR 56 / AGI 82 / ACC 82 / TAK 57
Fuller has nothing going for him. If he get?s drafted it is due to someone drafting for depth.
SS
Marviel Underwood | 5?10? | 197 #
AWR 54 / SPD 85 / STR 59 / AGI 81 / ACC 86 / TAK 54
A horrible tackler, Underwood might still get drafted for depth at SS.
