AWARDEE: Alex Smith (CHI)

Chicago Bears quarterback Alex Smith has won the SFL 2005 Rookie of the Week Award for his Week 1 performance against the Washington Redskins. The quarterback completed 19 of 31 attempts (61.29 percent) for 275 yards, three touchdowns and zero interception for a 122.4 passer rating in a 32-28 win over the Washington Redskins. That?s a very impressive performance for a rookie quarterback in the young history of the league. Rarely does a rookie QB put up that kind of performance in his very first game as a pro. What's more impressive is that he beat last season's Super Bowl champion team.

The haters and losers, of which there are many, are absolutely furious.
