Roster Movement: Quarterbacks on the Move
By Peter Fenger
Special to sfl-football.com

As the first round of Free Agency nears there have been some notable trades and if you?re like me there have been so many trades it's hard to keep up. So if it can be some help, here is a list of teams with new quarterbacks.

QB Kurt Warner to the Pittsburgh Steelers
After long-time Steeler QB Tommy Maddox was handed his walking papers, the Steelers were on the phone with the Tampa Bay Bucs and now super bowl winning QB Kurt Warner is in a black and yellow uniform.

QB Jake Delhomme to the Green Bay Packers
Brett Farve played his final game in week 17 of the last season. With a vacancy at QB and a roster of win now veterans, the Green Bay Packers were able to bring in Jake Delhomme from New Orleans. Last year we commented on how Delhomme has strong potential to break out this season, this move has me excited for Green Bay.

QB John Navarre to the Green Bay Packers
Traded from the Washington Redskins to the Green Bay Packers, Navarre can offer backup talent. We expect Navarre to stay in the QB2 role this next season.

QB Eli Manning to the Philadelphia Eagles
Jacksonville was eager to sell after a breakout season with sophomore QB Eli Manning. Manning played well last year helping the Jaguars to their first playoff appearance. Now in an Eagles uniform, Eli Manning has a young roster to grow with.

QB Donovan McNabb to the Jacksonville Jaguars
On the flip side of this trade, the Eagles sent McNabb packing and traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars. A move that seems beneficial to both sides, the veteran McNabb can compliment the rest of the roster in this new competitive team in Florida.

QB Brian Griese to the Carolina Panthers
In a familiar lineup the crowded QB position continues to be loaded in Carolina. QB Brian Griese joins veteran Mark Brunell in a rare situation where two 90+ OVR QBs fight for one spot. Questions follow the strategy of new GM Leonard Henry if he will keep this QB competition through week 1 of the new season.

QB David Carr to the Houston Texans
David Carr rejoins the Texans roster from the Cleveland Browns. The journeyman QB joins a Texans offense that turned QB Brian Griese into a top QB in 2004. Lets see if they can continue to QB whisper the 27 year old Carr.

QB Dave Ragone to the Houston Texans
In a move that screams QB competition, traded from the Atlanta Falcons, the 26 year old back up QB Ragone will be fighting for a starting role vs David Carr this offseason. Interesting possibilities for the Texan team.

QB Kyle Boller to the Washington Redskins
In a move of musical chairs QB Kyle Boller was traded from the Green Bay Packers. There is little doubt that Boller will be playing backup this season with Rex Grossman on their roster.

QB Kordell Stewart to the Denver Broncos
Another move for backup talent, Stewart traded from the Washington Redskins to the Denver Broncos. We expect to see Stewart backup Jim Sorgi this next season.

Teams with QB needs
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
New Orlean Saints

Hope this was helpful to all looking to keep up with the changing landscape of this offseason.
