As the first round of Free Agency concludes there have been some notable trades and if you?re like me there have been so many trades it's hard to keep up. So if it can be some help, here is a list of teams with new wide receivers.
HB DeShaun Foster, HB Lamont Jordan, and HB Tatum Bell to the Cleveland Browns A whole new backfield in Cleveland after a trio of trades. HB DeShaun Foster from the Arizona Cardinals will likely lead the Browns. HB Lamont Jordan traded from the Atlanta Falcons, will likely back up Foster. And finally HB Tatum Bell traded from the Dallas Cowboys fills out the position.
HB Clinton Portis to the Green Bay Packers After a season with Ricky Williams the Green Packers were ready for an exchange. In a trade with the Washington Redskins the Green Bay Packers is now home for HB Clinton Portis. After breakout performance in Denver, Portis took a step back in Washington. We?ll see how Portis can run on the Packers.
HB Ricky Williams to the Washington Redskins The Redskins traded for All-Pro Ricky Williams from the Green Bay Packers. Williams joins his fourth team, but stats are showing improved performance each year, so there could be a lot of opportunity in Washington.
HB Najah Davenport and HB Brock Forsey to the Jacksonville Jaguars With expiring contracts for both HB Ahmad Green and HB Curtis Martin, the Jacksonville Jaguars have added some new names to their roster. HB Najah Davenport joins the team from the Atlanta Falcons and HB Brock Forsey joins from the Washington Redskins. We will see if Jacksonville will bring back Green or Martin after contract negotiations, but until then, there are some new names to reduce the impact of vacancy.
HB LaDainian Tomlinson to the Houston Texans The All-Pro HB LT is on his way to Houston. After a trade with the Carolina Panthers, Tomlinson lands his fourth team, but should offer great support. With a changing lineup at quarterback, LT will have an opportunity to lead the Texan offense.
HB Thomas Jones, HB Brandon Jacobs, and HB Onterrio Smith to the Carolina Panthers The Browns and the Panthers are sharing a playbook, because both teams will be loaded at HB this season. The Panthers ante?s up this offseason with their trio of trades. Veteran Thomas Jones joins Carolina from the Houston Texans, leading Rookie HB Brandon Jones joins from the Cleveland Browns, and backup HB Onterrio Smith traded from the Tennessee Titans should help add depth. Should be interesting to see which HB will lead the Panthers this next season because both Jones and Jacobs offer opportunity.
HB Tim Biakabutuka to the Philadelphia Eagles HB Tim Biakabutuka, traded from the Carolina Panthers, must have impressed Ex-Panthers GM Daryl Breckheimer because the backup HB rejoins a roster with his old manager in Philadelphia. We expect Biakabutuka to resume his role as HB2/3.
HB Steven Jackson to the Arizona Cardinals Big guy HB Steven Jackson joins from the Arizona Cardinals from the Philadelphia Eagles. The talented young RB should be a large workload in AZ.
HB Edgerrin James to the Dallas Cowboys HB Edgerrin James joins the Dallas Cowboys from the Indianapolis Colts. The reliable running back will fit into the position after Veteran HB Terrell Davis retired before this offseason and after Tatum Bell was traded to Cleveland.
