The first round of free agency has ended and in addition to the multiple team trades the changing landscape of the next SFL season continues. If you?re like me there have been so many trades it's hard to keep up. So if it can be some help, here is a list of teams with a new defensive line.
LE Lance Johnsone, RE Paul Spicer, DT Glen Steele, RE Glen Stills, LE Javon Mills to the Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh roster continues to change. The Steelers have a new defensive line, LE Lance Johnstone, formerly of the Chiefs, joins the team from Free Agency, RE Paul Spicer, formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals, signs a contract from free agency, DT Glen Steele acquired from Free Agency. And backup talent added, LE Javon Mills, formerly from the Arizona Cardinals, signed in free agency and RE Gary Stills from the Kansas City Chiefs, also signed in free agency. Finally, DT Tim Anderson, formerly on the Carolina Panthers, was signed in free agency.. This new roster will replace last year's D-line after losing 4 Defensive Ends with expired contracts.
LE Kailmba Edwards and DT Cory Redding to the Buffalo Bills
LE Kalimba Edwards acquired from Free Agency, previously from the Cincinnati Bengals, joins the Bills. And DT Cory Redding, traded from the Philadelphia Eagles, joined the Bills roster.
LE Travis LaBoy to the Miami Dolphins
In a trade for depth at the position, LE Travis LaBoy joins the Miami Dolphins after being traded from the Washington Redskins.
LE Aaron Smith to the New York Jets
LE Aaron Smith was picked up by the New York Jets from Free Agency. The veteran DE played 4 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers before he left in free agency.
LE Jamall Green to the New England Patriots
LE Jamall Green was picked up in free agency not having any previous experience. We expect him to add depth at the position.
LE Justin Tuck to the Chicago Bears
The 3rd round rookie was traded to the Chicago Bears. Formerly from the Philadelphia Eagles now calls Chicago his new home. The sophomore player will look to improve from the 9 sacks he recorded last season.
RE Carlos Hall to the Green Bay Packers
DE Carlos Hall was signed to a contract with the Green Bay Packers from Free Agency. The veteran previously spent the last 3 years with the Tennessee Titans.
DT Corey Simon to the Minnesota Vikings
DT Corey Simon finds his 3rd team, previously from the Eagles and Browns. Now a Viking, the 6 year pro will look to recapture his 8 sack season with the Philly Eagles.
DT Luther Elliss and DT Sam Adams to the Dallas Cowboys
Both Free Agent DTs join Dallas. Elliss previously from the Buffalo Bills. And Adams from the Baltimore Ravens. Both elite DTs should help the D-Line in big D.
LE Jason Babin to the Philadelphia Eagles
In an exchange at DE, LE Jason Babin joins the Philly Eagles from the Chicago Bears. The SFL junior looks to recapture his 11 sack rookie magic after only recording 1 QB sack last year.
LE Jason Taylor and RE Fred Robbins to the Washington Redskins
Elite LE Jason Taylor joins the Washington roster from the Tennessee Titans. After his single season with the Titans, Taylor joins his 3rd team in 3 years. 6th year RE Fred Robbins joins the Washington Redskins, previously from the Minnesota Vikings. The RE will suit up opposite Taylor this next season.
RE Trevor Pryce and DT Darnell Dockett to the Jacksonville Jaguars
RE Trevor Pryce comes to Jacksonville from the New York Jets. Having incredible stats with his time on the Denver Broncos (13 sacks in a single season), the Ex-Jet joins his 3rd team in 3 years. DT Darnell Dockett also joins the Jaguars roster. Previously from the Minnesota Vikings, the DT will enter his 3rd year in the SFL.
RE Bryan Thomas to the Houston Texans
The 4 year DE joins the Houston Texans from the Miami Dolphins. Thomas has shown potential in the past, notably his 9 sack season with the Carolina Panthers.
DT Marcus Stroud to the Tennessee Titans
The Detroit big man joins the Titans roster. After recording 10 sacks last season, Stroud joins Tennessee from the Detroit Lions.
DT Matt Mitrione to the Carolina Panthers
DT Matt Mitrione joins the Panthers from the Dallas Cowboys. We expect him to add depth at the position.
RE Jarrett Johnson to the San Francisco 49ers
RE Jarrett Johnson traded to the 49ers from the Green Bay Packers. The young DE will fill in as depth to the position.
RE Dwayne White to the Arizona Cardinals
DE Dwayne White joins the Arizona Cardinals from the Houston Texans. White will join Chris Kelsay at the same position to battle for the starting role in this next season.
DT Russel Davis to the Seattle Seahawks
DT Davis joins the Seattle roster from the Arizona Cardinals. Historically a weak position in the past, Davis should help to add talent to the Seahawks? defensive line.
