Jacksonville, FL. - Much has been made from the Jacksonville Jaguars having a very, very busy off-season including having no draft picks and moving on from their franchise QB in Eli Manning. In fact, earlier articles from the media had the Jaguars finishing no better then #3 in their division, firmly behind the Tennessee Titans and the Indianapolis Colts.
However, the script has finally been flipped in Jacksonville. They not only, for the first time in the SMFL won their division, they went 5-1 in the division with lopsided victories over all three teams(and a controversial Overtime loss to the Texans).
The Jags have been pushing all season to win and win now. They moved their second round draft pick for veteran CB Daylon McCutcheon and traded their first round draft pick for stud WR Tyrone Calico. There was never a belief in the organization that they couldn't win their division and make the playoffs - the aggressiveness has finally paid off!
The Osgreat Effect
All off-season the Jags have been very vocal about the importance of Kassim Osgood and his impact on the game. Their belief in their stud WR has paid off. Since his return, in three games he has accounted for:
18 receptions 458 yards 7 touchdowns
Not only has this obviously been a big boost for himself, but it also has boosted up the entire offenses production and given Calico the ability to go one on one and dominate, as well. The offense, since his return is averaging 40 points per game and the average margin of victory being 23 points - which is insane.
As of now, there are no plans to bench anyone as the Jags want to continue this momentum into the offseason. The Jags plan to wear the hashtag "Believe all women" for their big time matchup with the New England Patriots on Sunday. This is a big game for the Pats as they try are trying to sneak into one of those last Wildcard spots.
