AFC Championship: How to bet Raiders Browns
By Tim Miller
Special to sfl-football.com

Timmy the Greek back for the AFC Divisional Championship game where the Oakland Raiders head to Cleveland to take on the #1 overall seed, the Browns.

Having been a GM in both the AFC West and the AFC North, Timmy has a little experience with both of these teams and he has his "LOCK OF THE DAY".

Timmy predicts that this game will come down to the wire with the lead changing hands but it will all come down to one player... Oakland kicker Sebastian Janikowski. Timmy's prediction: Seabass is called upon to tie the game late on a short field goal... and misses. Browns by 2.5.

Let's take a look at the week 4 matchup between these teams that the Browns won, 24-21.

The Raiders jumped out to a 3-0 and then a 10-0 lead with a 36 yard field goal and then a 1 yard Chad Pennington to Jeremi Johnson pass early in the second quarter.

The Browns were relatively quiet until they went all "ONE MINUTE DRILL" which is twice a good as a two minute drill. The Browns scored first one a Drew Bledsoe to Hines Ward touchdown pass with 56 second left in the half. Then, after a defensive stand, they got the ball back and this time it was Bledsoe to Terrell Owens from 1 yard out to put the Browns up 14-10 at halftime.

The third quarter was relatively quiet until Bledsoe found L.J. Smith from 21 yards out to put the Browns up 21-10 with 2:19 remaining in the third quarter.

But just when you think the Raiders are out of it, the fourth quarter comes and that massive offensive line with Fred Taylor running behind comes into play and starts wearing down your defense.

Sebass comes through with a 50 yard field goal to make the score 21-13 in the fourth.

Then, with 32 second remaining in the game, Pennington finds Chad Johnson from 53 yards out. A successful two point conversion and the teams were tied at 21.

This game was seemingly heading into overtime when Bledsoe put together a nice drive that got the Browns into the red zone. At that point, David Akers calmly kicked through the field goal for the win.

Some things about this game:
The game was in Oakland in September. This game will be in Cleveland in January. Frigid temps with possible snow is expected. I bring that up because, though the Raiders are the one known for their running, both of the Browns backs averaged over 5 yards a carry with Foster going over 100 yards on the day.

Garth is 1-2 lifetime against Tom which you don't see very often.

So having been the beneficiary of a couple of timely Seabass misses in KC, Timmy is going with the Browns to advance to the Super Bowl.

So take out a second mortgage, cash in your kids 529, and run to MGM and ask for the Timmy the Greek AFC Champion special!

Timmy the Greek out!
