2007 Draft Day Steals

As I say every year, each team improves from the draft every year but here are some picks I thought were steals either where they were selected or just from a value to where I have them on my board. If you don't agree or if your opinion differs from mine feel free to list who you thought was a steal on draft day.

1.3- San Diego Chargers- QB Brady Quinn
It didn't take me long to find an absolute steal in this draft, to me there was 1QB in this draft and then everyone else. Quinn has the potential of 93 THP after this season, he already has 88 THA and the 75 AWR is huge. Like Will stated on draft day , Quinn is the 3rd highest rated QB in SFL draft history with his combo of attributes and if Anthony finds a solid playbook for Quinn right out of the gate then playoffs aren't out of the question.

1.8- Arizona Cardinals- WR Robert Meachem
I said it at the draft on the site and now again, Robert meachem is the steal of this class. The dude already comes with 99 SPD/90 AGI/99 ACC, his AWR isn't terrible but his CTH is atrocious. He's even eligible for training camp so his CTH can go up right off the bat. You put this guy opposite of your WR1 right out of the gate and yes, dont get me wrong he will drop some passes but those he catches have the potential to be taken to the house on every play.

1.26- Atlanta Falcons- LOLB Jon Beason
The falcons were correct in their comparison of OLB Teddy Lehman, they are pretty much clones, yeah Beason will need that AWR up but I see an OLB was taken ahead of Beason by the Dolphins, he's a fine player also but not nearly the athletic ability of Beason. I think many GM's prefer height here but I look at Chicago's Karlos Dansby who's almost identical in stats with Lehman so I don't think that height or weight has much to do with performance, I believe it's more scheme than anything but like many on here, just a theory. Either way I took Lehman at 1.6 a few years back so to get the same type of player at 1.26 is a tremendous steal imo.

2.22- Buffalo Bills- CB Marcus McCauley
McCauley was a corner i was hoping might fall a bit but was kind of glad he didn't since we had a bunch already in the mix. He has excellent size at 6'1", has the potential for 93 SPD/95 AGI/94 ACC, that's excellent value there, he needs to work on that STR but also comes as a ball hawk with 68 CTH.

2.32- Miami Dolphins- QB Drew Stanton
We close out round 2 with a true Gem, Drew Stanton is 6'3" 220+ lbs., 22 years old, 62 AWR with the potential 94 THP/93 THA off the bat, I'm not really sure what the 72 AGI means and it's kind of random considering both his SPD and ACC are late 50's. Solid pick none the less by Daren and those Phins.

3.6- Cleveland Browns- SS Gerald Alexander
To get a S of this caliber at 3.6 is pretty awesome, the Browns got an absolute steal here. Although I don't value the position as much as alot of others, Alexander looks like he can be a diamond in the rough.

3.27- Seattle Seahawks- CB Chris Houston
Houston was a good get at the bottom of the 3rd round with the potential of 96 SPD/93 AGI/95 ACC/90 JMP. His AWR is the only thing keeping him back at this point, late 60's on both CTH and TAK also make this a high value player.

4.12- Green Bay Packers- OC Kyle Cook
This was a solid draft class for centers and yuck a division rival landed 1. I think Cook may be better or as equal to a few that went before him so at 4.1 to land a possible starting C down the road in the 4th is always going to be in the steal category.
