NFC East1.
Washington Redskins
2.
New York Giants
3.
Philadelphia Eagles
4.
Dallas Cowboys
Analysis: The
Washington Deadskins have won two of the past three Super Bowls, so I'm not putting them anywhere but the top of the division. I also think the
New York Giants have improved this offseason and should continue to be competitive. I worry about the
Philadelphia Eagles and think that some decisions this offseason weren't all that great, but that keeping Eli was the right move. I'm putting myself and the
Dallas Cowboys in last place. Yes, it means I lose the team, but I don't trust Kurt Warner to stay healthy behind this line.
NFC North1.
Minnesota Vikings
2.
Green Bay Packers
3.
Detroit Lions
4.
Chicago Bears
Analysis: The
Minnesota Vikings proved last year they are a force to be reckoned with and nothing has changed. They should easily win the division. I think the
Green Bay Packers are tending back toward their Brett Favre-era selves, but still will be a few games behind the Vikings. The
Detroit Lions should also be good, but I feel they will come up short for saving their GM's job. In last place, we have the
Chicago Bears, who appear to be a season off from being competitive in the NFC.
NFC South1.
Carolina Panthers
2.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
3.
New Orleans Saints
4.
Atlanta Falcons
Analysis: To be clear -- this division is up for grabs. None of the teams have a good signal caller. Except for the
Carolina Panthers, who have the GOAT, Bruce Gradkowski. How could they lose with him in charge? I also think the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers will improve their record dramatically. Their young team is a year older and the rest of the division is lackluster. I expect the
New Orleans Saints to stay par for the course, but will win games if they push their rushing game. In last place is the
Atlanta Falcons. This team was set to implode and it's unfortunate that GM St. Marie had to inherit it.
NFC West1.
Seattle Seahawks
2.
Arizona Cardinals
3.
St. Louis Rams
4.
San Francisco 49ers
Analysis: The
Seattle Seahawks are here to stay, take note NFC West. GM Hewko has finally got his team clicking in his way and he will contend year in and year out. I also think the
Arizona Cardinals will be good -- they have Carson Palmer back and that's the whole reason they didn't return to the playoffs in 2006. It's unfortunate to put the
St. Louis Rams in third place, but they shouldn't be in the cellar. They're good, but I expect their team to have a few bad bounces. Same goes for the
San Francisco 49ers, but their one weakness is big: they need Kyle Orton to take the next step.
