Top CBs statistically 2007 so far ----------------------------------------------------- Ranking players is always very subjective. Some folk place emphasis on certain stats or attributes whilst others go their own way. In looking at the stats for CBs last season, I focussed on the key metrics for CBs - deflections, catches allowed and interceptions.
The formula for evaluating performance was:
:
interceptions + deflections / catches allowed
Now everyone may have their own slant on this and using the top 60 CBs - and only including those who managed over 6 deflections, here are the best - a CB Index ratio of 1 or over 1 is really very good. It means your player is allowing less catches than deflections plus interceptions. Now there is a lot more to being a CB - run support, etc - but the main priority is to shut your man down. This is my angle on ranking the best in the league - feel free to chime in with your own! :)
This is the list of all qualifying players based on the filter of 6 deflections who have a CB Index Ratio of 1 or more.
