2008 SFL Draft- Top Prospects By Position According to GM Mellon
The draft is an area where my alter ego, ?GM Mellon? acts as if he wants no part of. In reality (4th wall coming down here) I really like the draft. I simply use it as a different tool than most. While most GM?s look to obtain their next era of superstars (mostly loser GM?s such as Bill Cook), I (aka: Heel GM Mellon) uses it to fill out roster and look for mid lever, lower priced talent. If I draft someone in the 1st or 2nd round it is because I 100% expect that player to become a starter within a season or two. The only exception I can think of would be at QB. Even though I do not recall myself ever taking a backup QB in the 2nd round it is an idea that I think could make sense because I put a hefty value on a decent backup QB.
Tonight, I have taken upon the task of looking to top prospects at each position. I expect to be here for the next few hours. Let us see how long it takes to complete this task. It is currently 7:45 PM. Good things come to those who wait right? Feel free to comment on the player analysis. I do not claim to be the best at projecting future player greatness but I do have certain aspects I try to look for. I will stats which attributes I put value in by position below.
