The League Manual explains the Grading System in its entirety.

For me the Grading System is a tool that can help evaluate talent at a high level? and is
ONLY used as a means of filtering & comparing players by position. I tend to treat each positions desirable attributes uniquely, and weigh those desirable attributes based on importance on a scale of 1-5. If an attribute is not indicated with a value it doesn?t mean it?s not important? likely, there?s thresholds set that helps me understand if the rating is GREAT, within the ?Sweet Spot? or Concerning. I also look at height and weight in a similar manner and/or use it as a tie breaker when I have just a few players I?m ranking or deciding between.
I'm sure my personal Grading System and how I weighted the attributes is flawed. With 32 GM evaluating talent in very different ways I'm sure this could have us debating for hours... personally, I don't need the system to be perfect - I don't find it to be a tool that perfectly leads me to the player I'd end up drafting anyway.
The Grading System can only be used on the Rookie Class (unfortunately)... and it applies a "Grade" to each player (grey highlighted column). I love EXCEL... I copy and paste the results into EXCEL and manipulate the results to my liking.
I'll typically resort the results in a number of different ways... but always, will resort it by position - the reason why is I feel comparing players "Grades" by position is only valuable when the same attributes and weights are used.
Have I revealed my TARGETED players from this draft class... YUP! But, I'm not too worried as some of these guys will be knocked out by my set thresholds and/or attributes/height/weight I find concerning. Furthermore, I have no doubt others will be bumped when I begin doing Private Workouts.
There a another process I go through to expand on my targeted list of players that will help me widen the search for talent... a topic for another time.
