WHY DO YOU MADDEN THE SFL WAY?

I have had a tough time as of late with some real life issues. Yes, I mean the real life issues such as work, home, family, finances, basically all the stresses we each deal with and work through daily.Oh yeah, let me not forget, we are dealing with this little world wide pandemic too. At any rate things were really bad for me yesterday. Whether it was me just not wanting to deal with the real world issues, tired of dealing with the real world issues or whatever I drowned myself in Madden, OUR Madden, the SFL to be exact. I ended up processing the longest article, time wise I had ever done. I began an article at 7:45 PM and believe I ended it at 1:40 AM. Was it a great article, no not really. It was not ground breaking. I did not find a way to stop the dumb A, the two minute game play, the punt return fumbles or anything like that. I did a simple draft preview. It will not mean a thing in a few days. Want to know something though? I was happy. It took me away from the problems. I actually learned a lot too. I learned that I wish I had a few 2nd to 3rd round picks, lol.

It got me thinking, ?Why? do I do this. Here?s what I came up with. Feel free to share why YOU do this.

#1. FELLOWSHIP
Yeah, that might be corny but to be honest, as I get older I find myself having less and less friends that I associate with. Perhaps it is because I am finding out I dislike the human race as I get older.  I really do value the friendships I have made here. I might try to screw over each and every one of you when it comes to snipping a franchise QB out of your grasp (AKA Flaccogate- sorry Peter) or put a max bid on a released WR (Mouldsgate- not sorry Brandon). At the end of the day though know that I would share my ammunition with you during the zombie apocalypse

#2. MUCH NEEDED BREAK FROM REALITY
Acting as the heel GM Mellon of the hated Washington Redskins is awesome! Spending hundreds of millions of dollars on imaginary players to win multiple championships is freakin? cool. As I mentioned above, it provides a break from the sorrows and struggles of real life.

#3. COMPETETIVENESS
The competition here in the SFL is top notch. I am not the most competitive person in real life. I am actually pretty humble. I am super conservative and not much of a risk taker. This environment allows me to change things up and be competitive and take risks.

#4. IT IS CHEAP ENTERTAINMENT
I do not know about you but when I used to go out for entertainment I did things like go to movies. That got to be expensive. With a couple movie tickets being $30, popcorn and drinks costing double that a movie night got to be about $100. The SFL, NAFL, etc cost me very little. Perhaps some small donation to keep the sites running, some flowers for Will after a crushing defeat, etc. The total cost, ever in any league was minimal. Again, I would be out $100 for a few hours for a movie night. I can do this for hours and hours and hours and it costs about $0.

#5. I CAN SOMEWHAT MAKE IT SEEM LIKE I AM INTERESTED IN WHAT MY WIFE IS DOING
That is correct, if my wife is watching Pretty Little Liars, Riverdale or Wanda Vision for the 35th time I can slip over to the PC or my phone and catch up on league site issues or the Discord channel. I can usually do this while still acting as if I care about whether or not Allison really died in season 1 of Pretty Little Liars or not.

#6. BEATING BILL COOK AND THE DALLAS COWBOYS FEELS GREAT
Being able to overcome an evil doer such as Mr. Bill Cook so often feels great! Have you heard that my Washington Redskins (AKA: The Good guys) are an incredible 11-1 vs Mr. Cook?s evil empire, the mighty Dallas Cowboys? It is true, check it out or just ask me about it. I will tell you about it?.. day after day, week after week and season after season.
