What Does It Take To Win an SFL Championship?

This article may help someone such as Bill Cook since he clearly does not have the answer. Seriously though what does it take to win a title? I have said it many times, in my opinion it takes skill to make it to the playoffs but a good run game, great defense and some old fashioned lady luck to win in the playoffs. I wanted to take a look at where each SFL super bowl team stood in terms of offense and defensive ranking. Here goes:

2002 Super Bowl:
AFC Champion Indianapolis Colts vs NFC Champion St Louis Rams
Rams won 51 to 31

Game summary: Offensive slobber knocker- The Rams passed for 334 yards while the Colts passed for 357. Both teams starting QB?s (Kurt Warner for the Rams and Peyton Manning for the Colts) missed time in the game due to injury. The Rams also ran the ball at will gaining 223 yards on the ground. The Colts gained only 55 yards on the ground.

Colts regular season:
- Passed for an amazing 5630 yards
* Had two WR?s with 1000+ yards, with Reggie Wayne leading the way with 2197 yards.

AFC Champion Baltimore Ravens vs NFC Champion St Louis Rams
Ravens won 27 to 24

Game summary: This was a more balanced game than the first SFL super bowl. The Rams passed for 311 yards vs 208 for the Ravens. The Rams rushed for 86 yards while the Ravens ran for 126 yards.

- Passed for 4021 yards with starting QB Jeff taking all QB snaps in the season. (The punter was credit with 1 pass attempt.)
- Had two WR?s with 1000+ yards.
- Had 3 WR?s with 600+ yards
