GM Mellon’s 2008 Post Season Prediction

We have four games left in the season. I wanted to take a look at give my predictions for the teams who will make the post season. Here we go:

AFC Playoff Teams

Cleveland Brown- GM Tom Collins
I expect the Browns to finish 3-1 over the rest of the season putting their record at 11-5, winning the SFL’s AFC North division.

Oakland Raider- GM Garth Pearce
I expect the Raiders to finish 2-2 over the next 4 games to finish 10-6, winning the SFL’s AFC West division.

Tennessee Titans- GM Gary Cohen
I expect the Titans to finish 3-1 over the next 4 games to finish 11-5, winning the SFL’s AFC South division. I think the Titans and Texans are going to be battling for the division until the very end. I gave the narrow victory to the Titans and GM Cohen.

New York Jets – GM Kevin Mullendore
I expect the Jets to finish 3-1over the last 4 games to finish at 12-4 and win arguably the SFL’s tough division, the AFC East.

New England Patriots- GM Briston Redford
Boy, these wild card spots were tough to predict but I am choosing the Patriots as one of them by finishing 3-1 over the last 4 games, good enough for a wild card spot.

Miami Dolphins- GM Darren Roberts
I am going to predict the Dolphins and GM Roberts to finish a perfect 4-0 and earning a wild card spot.

------------------------------------------------------------------

NFC Playoff Teams

Minnesota Vikings- GM Neal Wintermute
I expect the Vikings to finish a perfect 4-0 over the rest of the season to make their record at 13-3, winning the SFL’s NFC North division.

Arizona Cardinals- GM Apollo Shapiro
I expect the Cards to finish 2-2 over the next 4 games to finish 9-7, winning the SFL’s NFC West division. I predict the St Louis Rams and GM Justin Walstead to also finish at 9-7 but the Cards get the division title due to their head to head record vs the Rams.

New Orleans Saints- GM Nathan Jones
I expect the Saints to finish 3-1 over the next 4 games to finish 12-5, winning the SFL’s NFC South division.

Washington Redskins- GM Bryan Mellon
I try to win every game, even when historically I have been able to start my backups after clinching the playoffs. With that said, I am predicting myself to go 4-0 over the next 4 games to finish 13-3 and win the SFL’s AFC East division.

Philadelphia Eagles- GM Darryl Breckheimer
I expect the Eagles and Breck to finish the season at 3-1. This will be enough to earn a wild card spot and be a team no one wants to face in the playoffs.

Green Bay Packers- GM Gary Hickman
I am going to predict the Packers and GM Hickman to finish 3-1 and earning a wild card spot.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Team who just miss out on the playoffs I predict to be:

AFC

Houston Texans and GM Wade Pearce (expected record of 10-6)
What a tough way to end a very good season. Even though I am predicting double digits wins for the Texans I think they will just miss the playoffs.

Indianapolis Colts and GM Ian Coyle (expected record of 8-8 )
The Colts make other GM’s take notice finishing 3-1 even without QB Peyton Manning.

------------------------------------------------------------------

NFC

Dallas Cowboys and GM Will Cook (expected record of 9-7)
GM Cook makes the right moves and finishes strong but loses vs the Eagles in week 17 sealing their fate which will be falling just short of the playoffs.

St Louis Rams and GM Justin Walstead (expected record of 9-7)
I expected GM Walstead to lead his team to a strong finish but just narrowing missing the playoffs. The miss the playoffs, in my opinion due to their head to head record with the division champions, the Arizona Cardinals and GM Apollo.
