NFC East
1.
Philadelphia Eagles
2.
Washington Redskins
3.
Dallas Cowboys
4.
New York Giants
Analysis: I think the race between the
Philadelphia Eagles and the
Washington Redskins might be one of the most exciting division races this season. In the end, I'm giving the Iggles the advantage as they have Peyton Manning and were dominant after acquiring him last season. Next up, I think the
Dallas Cowboys have a similar campaign to last season (and I think I lose my job). Last place is still the
New York Giants, who will also be looking for a new GM.
NFC North
1.
Green Bay Packers
2.
Chicago Bears
3.
Minnesota Vikings
4.
Detroit Lions
Analysis: Don't get me wrong -- the
Minnesota Vikings are the most talented team in this division, but I'm predicting a Super Bowl hangover (either under performance or a couple key injuries). My gut tells me the
Green Bay Packers surprise a few people this year and Matt Ryan arrives, similar to how Brady Quinn burst onto the stage a couple years back. I also think the
Chicago Bears will be much improved and pushing for a playoff spot. Last place is obvious -- it's the
Detroit Lions, but they're okay with that as they're rebuilding.
NFC South
1.
Carolina Panthers
2.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
3.
Atlanta Falcons
4.
New Orleans Saints
Analysis: This is going to ruffle some feathers. Both the GMs of the
Atlanta Falcons and
New Orleans Saints are confident (some would say cocky), that their team is ready to compete for a Super Bowl and is the unquestioned favorite in their division. Funnily enough, I think both are overrated and have glaring holes that will ruin their seasons. I'm picking the
Carolina Panthers to win, because I think if they can use David Carr effectively, the rest of their roster is pretty balanced. I also think the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a solid season, as they still have a lot of cap to fill out their roster with veterans.
NFC West
1.
St. Louis Rams
2.
Arizona Cardinals
3.
Seattle Seahawks
4.
San Francisco 49ers
Analysis: The top two teams in the NFC West made themselves apparent last season -- it's the
St. Louis Rams and the
Arizona Cardinals. I'm picking St. Louis to win the division because of one main reason: their gameplan is much more consistent, whereas the Cardinals use a gimmicky "boom or bust" plan. Either team could win, but I'm hedging St. Louis again. I do think the other two teams, the
Seattle Seahawks and
San Francisco 49ers are going to struggle. Seattle doesn't seem to have an identity, and I can't trust San Francisco as long as Kyle Orton is their quarterback.
