Turn of the last division of AFC, WILD WEST

Denver Broncos – CB Stanford Routt

I would like to pick Big Ben just for troll commish Billy the kid, instead I’ll go with another former cowboy that joined Broncos at same time as big ben. Denver is one of those teams that have everything for win a championship but that last season struggle a lot for keep the job, during that time I mention how “unlucky” they were in multiple games but thinking about the situation I think Broncos are a team that lack “Clutch” those situational plays called it turnovers, a key stop or a big play at offense. If they manage to start having big plays at both sides of balls I really believe they are a playoffs team with a top tier offense, but my X-Factor for them is CB Stanford Routt, they need routt to be a key player and specially to have turnovers, in 4 seasons he only has 5 interceptions, that’s an awful number and DFL 58 / CTHA 100 isn’t a good number too. Judge a CB by CTHA can be unfair sometimes so won’t focus on that, but if they want to develop the “Clutch” Routt must add more interceptions.

Kansas City Chiefs – LT Walter Jones

The first OL picked for this section, Walter Jones joins the chiefs after 2 seasons with Texans, last one with 96 pancakes, it’s true he’s regressing and he have lost much of his physical impact as speed and strength, but he has the perfect 99-99-99. I believe the chiefs simply don’t have the enough ammo at WR core for try and be a hard pass team, QB Leftwich is a solid player, but as a whole unit I don’t think the pass game of chiefs scare someone, Chiefs have invested strong on their defense using 3 top 5 picks on the last 2 drafts, so my prediction is they’re going to use the proven strategy: Solid defense + Solid run game + few turnovers. HB Tatum Bell is an underrated player that perfectly could be considered as an X-factor, but being the main weapon of chiefs, I’ll avoid him, and instead choosing the guy that going to be his best friend this season. Walter Jones opening holes for Bell is the secret recipe for success at Arrowhead.

Oakland Raiders – LE Robert Ayers

Gotta confess this selection may be the worst I do on this series of articles, mainly cause haven’t had the chance to talk much with GM Raiders Garth Pearce and im uncertain of his style. Based on how last season sat HB Ricky Williams for HB Matt Forte and raiders were able to produce great numbers with a rookie, that make me thing they won’t waste time with the rookie called to be Jevon Kearse successor, and he’ll immediately going to start for Oakland and produce solid numbers. During draft night I wasn’t sure Ayers was a good pick, but after he skew 4 points on speed, im sure Garth scouted him and he drafted one of the best talent of this class with a late 1st. Also I would like to mention now Ayers should be on the list of potential DROY candidates.

San Diego Chargers – WR Jacoby Jones

Last season was a bucket of reality for chargers, and they jeopardy their future trading a 1st round pick for a 1yr rental qb that never started a game. But that’s a topic of last season and now Chargers must focus on try to repeat 2007 success, they didn’t add impact rookies and overall the offseason moves were limited for them, so they’re going to trust on players that were already on roster, and there’s a name that comes to my mind as that game changer they may be looking at: WR Jacoby Jones, a former 1st round pick of 2 seasons ago that haven’t see much snaps but that has all the physical attributes for dominate. He received both rookie and sophomore progression, and if he doesn’t get a solid starter role I would be surprise. Brady Quinn is a better QB, and soon enough will be on the 99-99 so Chargers imo are a pass team and this is the Jacoby year.
