This article looks at the histories of the franchises in the SFL's NFC South.

Division Titles
2002- Saints
2003- Falcons
2004- Panthers
2005- Falcons
2006- Falcons
2007- Saints
2008- Saints
2009- Falcons

The NFC South has been dominated by the Saints and the Falcons. With the exception of 2004 when the Panthers claimed the division, every other year the division has been won by either the Saints or the Falcons. The Saints actually went on to win the Super Bowl in the 2007 season defeating the Chargers.

Playoff Records
Buccaneers- 0-0
Falcons- 2-4
Panthers- 2-4
Saints- 4-2

The NFC South has a better playoff record that their division counterparts in the AFC, but a combined 8-10 record still isn’t ideal. The Saints lead the way as the only team in the division with an over .500 record in the playoffs.

Regular Season Records
Buccaneers- 47-81 (1 winning season)
Falcons- 74-54 (4 winning seasons)
Panthers- 65-63 (4 winning seasons)
Saints- 62-66 (3 winning seasons)

The Falcons have a very impressive record in the regular season. Even in seasons where the Falcons haven’t been over .500 they have been really close. Couple that with some impressive seasons by the Saints and Panthers and the NFC South can hold its own when it comes to the regular season.
