A recent conversation on Discord revolved around veteran regression and players who were 30 years or older. I thought it would good to look at the SFL teams as of the end of last season (2009). One could argue these numbers might not mean much because we don’t know the % of 30+ year olds at positions of lesser importance such as kick, punter, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and over all special teamers. I simply wanted to see how teams compared against one another when it came to veteran players and team building. I was surprised at some of this especially when it came to the super bowl teams, the Cleveland Browns and Washington Coyboy Killers. These two teams had some of the lowest 30+ year olds in the league.
There doesn’t seem to be a consistent trend when it comes to teams with more veterans being better/worse than those with less veterans.
