2010 AFC Predictions

AFC East

1. New England Patriots
2. New York Jets
3. Miami Dolphins
4. Buffalo Bills

Analysis: The fact the New York Jets missed the playoffs last year was shocking, but I'm thinking it's back-to-back seasons without them winning the division. The New England Patriots are too well stacked and will be returning quarterback Tom Brady to the field. I like them to take the division. All the teams are good though. The Miami Dolphins showed amazing gameplanning last season, but I don't know if it can last for two years in a row. And while the Buffalo Bills looked good as well, I still don't trust John David Booty.

AFC North

1. Cleveland Browns
2. Baltimore Ravens
3. Pittsburgh Steelers
4. Cincinnati Bengals

Analysis: I hate predicted this division, because someone always gets butthurt. Every damn year. There's no reason not to pick the defending AFC Champion Cleveland Browns to win the division, though, as they only got better. You could point to their revolving door at quarterback, but Schaub is on part with the other signal callers in the division. Tyler Thigpen may have something to say about that and I do think the Baltimore Ravens yet again push for the division. The Pittsburgh Steelers are interesting -- my concern is they are akin to the New Orleans Saints from a couple years back and will regress, but I could be wrong. Lastly, we have the Cincinnati Bengals. GM Brady Tinnin doesn't get butt-hurt by being put last, so I'm saving face. He likes it to show on the field. I think it will be another year until he can though, as he has the right pieces, but they've developing.

AFC South

1. Tennessee Titans
2. Houston Texans
3. Indianapolis Colts
4. Jacksonville Jaguars

Analysis: Something feels special with the Tennessee Titans this year and I feel like Eli is finally wanting to prove he can win a ring before his big brother does in Kansas City. The defending division champions, the Houston Texans, are still competitive but the Titans roster looks better all around. I am intrigued to see what the Indianapolis Colts look like, especially if Mark Sanchez can play more than two quarters this season. In last place, I have a very good Jacksonville Jaguars team, but I don't trust the glass mannequin under center.

AFC West

1. San Diego Chargers
2. Oakland Raiders
3. Kansas City Chiefs
4. Denver Broncos

Analysis: Every couple of years, the Oakland Raiders relinquish the division title. Smart money would be on the Kansas City Chiefs with their overpowered offense, but I think they still have too many holes to compete this season (look out for them next season). I'm going with the San Diego Chargers to win the division as Brady Quinn looks like he is ready to be the quarterback GM Anthony Cepparulo thought he would be a couple seasons back. Pair that with a solid defense and I like their chances. Let's not forget the upstart Denver Broncos, however. They looked good last year, but sadly, their entire division stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with their offseason.
