NFC East
1.
Washington Redskins
2.
Philadelphia Eagles
3.
Dallas Cowboys
4.
New York Giants
Analysis: GM Bill Ryan, despite a bad Top 10 selection in the draft, has maintained the most important part of the Redskins squad from their last Super Bowl championship and with some careful gameplanning, will make the
Washington Redskins division champions yet again. The
Philadelphia Eagles should also be fairly competitive, but the squad is known for losing some games they should not. The
Dallas Cowboys also look good, but their bane is the slow start and another 0-4 start will likely doom America's Team. However, in last place, we have the losing
New York Giants. Their success will be short-lived, but despite a likely 3-13 record, they'll likely talk trash like they're 13-3.
NFC North
1.
Detroit Lions
2.
Chicago Bears
3.
Minnesota Vikings
4.
Green Bay Packers
Analysis: GM Scott Gardiner is determined to keep his team and I think the
Detroit Lions are competitive and I think they shock the world being near-on unbeatable this year. It's quite possible the
Chicago Bears win the division again, but I think Detroit has a bit more motivation. I feel bad putting the
Minnesota Vikings in third place, but they have to earn the top spot again, after disappointing for two years after their Super Bowl appearance. Last place is still the
Green Bay Packers whom have shown moments of brilliance and then followed them up with horrible losing streaks and bad games.
NFC South
1.
New Orleans Saints
2.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
3.
Atlanta Falcons
4.
Carolina Panthers
Analysis: Remember when this division was the laughing stock of the league? No more, it's competitive from top to bottom. But this year, I'm not doubting the
New Orleans Saints who proved they are still relevant and that David Greene is a solid starting quarterback. The
Tampa Bay Buccaneers will finally be competitive though, with Peyton Manning under center. He's not enough to win the division, but will be enough to surpass the
Atlanta Falcons who look to have taken a couple of steps back on offense. I'm sure GM Nic St. Marie has a plan, but if tells us we're fools for not seeing it -- he's the fool. Last place is the
Carolina Panthers who are taking steps in the right direction, but the rookie GM is up against three champion GMs.
NFC West
1.
Arizona Cardinals
2.
St. Louis Rams
3.
Seattle Seahawks
4.
San Francisco 49ers
Analysis: GM Gary Cohen has taken over with the
Arizona Cardinals at the perfect time -- this team is ready to win and has the pieces to do so while the rest of the division is figuring things out. It's hard to say the
St. Louis Rams are "figuring things out", but they've gone for another soft reboot after winning their second trophy -- especially since their strategy may not work in two or three seasons. Definitely time to evaluate. The last two teams could go either way. The
Seattle Seahawks rarely put up clunkers two years in a row, so I expect them to be somewhat competitive. In last place, I have the
San Francisco 49ers, but it's more because they need to prove they can win. The same strategy that failed last year won't work this year.
