Week 1

~ This week’s write up excludes the New York Giants and Washington Football Team… the game was delayed due to inclement weather. ~

Did You Know?
There were five [5] games decided by 7 points or fewer in week 1… three [3] of those games were divisional match ups. There were only six [6] games where the winner won both the T.OP. and Turn Over battle (there were 3 additional teams that won the T.O.P. and tied the Turn Over Battle). Probably a bunch of gibberish I know, but those are things I look at weekly (really wish it was something the site trended – I’m too lazy to record it weekly.

Hot Seat Watch [3-3]
BUF [1-0] – Wins 27-13 against a Chiefs team that abandoned the Peyton experiment, and is now in somewhat of a rebuild with QB David Booty. GM Brandon Lindgren decided to go with QB Jake Delhomme, early indicators seem to show he was wise taking this approach!

PIT [1-0] – Wins 34-27 against divisional rival Ravens who tried to make a game of it late. The Ravens saw their starting QB get knocked out of the game (appears it could be up to a week injury)… they actually might have won had he been knocked out earlier. The Steelers & GM Tim Miller appear FULLY committed to the scrambler QB Michael Vick.

DAL [0-1] – Losses 27-37 against the Jets… a SRTONG 2nd half was eventually nullified when QB Donovan McNabb threw a PICK-6 in the Redzone. GM William Cook needs to avoid the slow start and get this team winning ASAP.

DET – Losses 12-16 to the Buccaneers in a snooze-fest of a game. GM Scott Gardiner is hoping a healthy QB Sam Bradford and WR Matt Jones can find a rhythm… he can only hope for next week I guess. For the Bucc’s, QB Peyton Manning was help to human like stats so maybe the Lions can lean on their defense this season?

SF – Losses 25-31 to divisional rival Seahawks… a nice day for QB Kyle Orton and WR Sidney Rice goes to waste. GM Peter Fenger and Choach Steve Mariucci better keep a close eye on HB Brandon Jacobs, he seemed to be horribly underutilized in the loss – is he up to the task of 20 carries a game?

SEA – Wins 31-25 to divisional rival 49ers… poor GM Rock Hewko had to watch “his” guy CB Cortez Allen have an active day against his squad [9 tackles and 3 deflections]. I’m sure Rock was fine… seeing WR A.J. Green haul in 10 receptions for 161 yards and a TD likely eased any concerns of having to settle for the Bridesmaid.
