#1 Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears are following up last season’s 12-4 record with an out of the gates 2-0 start to the season. It doesn't appear they've beaten anyone of significance (opponents are a combined 0-4) but the defense is winning them games in spite of horrible offensive output (young QB play).
#2 Arizona Cardinals
Count me in as a believer in the Arizona Cardinals (even though they lost last week). The team is benefitting from the play of HB Darren McFadden and WR Robert Meachem… but they'll need to survive the next couple weeks without the start HB (injured - pinched nerve). Defensively, LE Adam Carriker is LIGHTS OUT!
#3 New England Patriots
If the New England Patriots are for real (I think they are) they'll need to survive the rough road ahead - difficult schedule. There's no denying QB Tom Brady is one of the best QB's in the SFL and 2 weeks into the season he appears to be in top form.
#4 Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagle beat up on the defending Super Bowl Champs week 1 and escaped Atlanta with a win… they are undefeated despite abysmal QB play from Byron Leftwich. If the QB play improves and the defense makes BIG plays this team could be in store for a GREAT season.
#5 San Diego Chargers
I feel dirty only ranking the San Diego Chargers 5th on the Power Rankings… they beat the Vikings and Patriots to start the season. The offense is looking solid with reliable play from QB Brady Quinn, HB Demarco Murray is carry a heavy load and the offensive line has played lights out.
#6 Green Bay Packers
I should start with the obvious… HB Adrian Peterson in on pace to SHATTER every record ever held by a running back in a season - is it too early to hand him the MVP Trophy? The Green Bay Packers will be tested this week when they face their hated rival Chicago Bears - I'm doubtful the Packers stay undefeated.
#7 Pittsburgh Steelers
Is HOT SEAT GM Tim Miller winning with Smoke & Mirrors? I don't think the Pittsburgh Steelers have been truly tested yet - the next 4 weeks has the Black and Gold facing the AFC South, I think we'll have a better gauge f how good this team might be following that run of games.
#8 New York Jets
I walked into this season VERY high on the New York Jets… though my outlook on the team has cooled slightly I still see them in the Power Rankings (easily). So far the play of QB Aaron Brooks and HB Michael Turn are the bright spot.
#9 Cleveland Browns
A slight drop in the Power Rankings for the Cleveland Browns following a loss to last year worst team in the SFL, the Indianapolis Colts [3-13]. Hopefully a game against the 0-2 Miami Dolphins gets the team back on track.
#10 Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans lost to the Baltimore Ravens who were starting back-up QB Dave Ragone - REALLY??? I think this is a good team, but they need to prove they deserve being ranked or it won’t be long before they fall out of favor.
