SFL Power Rankings - Week 5

#1 Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears are still perfect… in spite of an unsettled QB situation (Erik Ainge has played horribly). The Bears had a signature win against their Divisional rival Green Bay Packer [44-21], outside of that they really haven't beaten anyone special.

#2 Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals showed pure dominance vs the New York Giants (who were without QB Phillip Rivers) week 4. Offensively, the Cardinals are on a roll… scoring 30+ points in three of four games. The return of HB Darren McFadden has the Cardinals at full strength – SCARY!

#3 Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have earned their way up the SFL Power Rankings after an impressive butt whooping of the San Francisco 49ers [51-7]. Improved QB the past two weeks have the Eagles looking unstoppable… Leftwich to Olinger is threat to go the distance at any point!

#4 New England Patriots
A slight dip in the SFL Power Rankings is of no fault of the New England Patriots. The season QB Tom Brady is having is on pace to eclipse anything he’s post to date – a VERY impressive start no doubt. If the rushing game and defense steps up even slightly the Patriots will have the AFC East locked up by week 13!

#5 Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts have yet to lose, a bit surprising following last season’s 3-13 finish. No team has been more opportunistic [+9 turnover differential] and rank near the top with Time of Possession [3rd]. If the Colts can rely less on field goals and punch the ball in the end zone they could be frightening.

#6 Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers are off to an impressive start, their only loss was to the undefeated Chicago Bears. At the quarter turn, HB Adrian Peterson is off to a historic pace… can any imagine a back rushing for 2,400 yards and 24 TD’s?

#7 Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills are out of the gate strong at 3-1… their only loss came at the hands of Divisional rival New England Patriots. The offense continues to play at a high level – QB Jake Delhomme has played lights out. Week 5 will offer a true test when the play host to the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles.

#8 Washington Redskins
The Washington Redskins are probably the least sexy team to make the SFL Power Ranking’s… to be expected, when you’re winning with defense and a ground game. The BYE week comes at a perfect time – they will be healthy week six when the face Divisional rival Philadelphia Eagles.

#9 New York Jets
Would the REAL New York Jets please step forward!?!? This team has been difficult to get a grasp on… I think the issues reside with the defense and their inability to get to the opponents QB and not able to force the turnover. This week they face the Patriots, so things aren’t getting any easier for them.

#10 St Louis Rams
The Defending Champs, St Louis Rams, were dealt a heavy blow losing to the Washington Redskins week 4… but seeing QB Drew Brees exit the game with a broken collarbone was a devastating site for the organization [projected out for 6-8 weeks]. The Rams acted quickly and acquired John David Booty.
