NFC East
1.
Philadelphia Eagles
2.
Dallas Cowboys
3.
Washington Redskins
4.
New York Giants
Analysis: As invested as I am in this division, I think that the
Philadelphia Eagles are still the top dog and have proven themselves. The
Dallas Cowboys will make a mad dash for the postseason however as William Cook's job depends on a postseason berth. Don't be surprised to see their future 1st traded mid-season for a player that will make the difference. For the other two teams, I expect the
Washington Redskins to be better than the
New York Giants despite the holes that now exist on their roster.
NFC North
1.
Green Bay Packers
2.
Chicago Bears
3.
Minnesota Vikings
4.
Detroit Lions
Analysis: This is always a very difficult division for me to predict. Although the
Chicago Bears are the defending champions, their quarterback is not as good as their starter last year, so I only feel comfortable affording them second place. The
Minnesota Vikings have consistently disappointed, so I can't pick them to win. As much as I want to select the
Detroit Lions, I still think last place has their name on it. That leaves the
Green Bay Packers, who have a pretty solid roster to win the division.
NFC South
1.
New Orleans Saints
2.
Atlanta Falcons
3.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
4.
Carolina Panthers
Analysis: This
New Orleans Saints roster reminds me of two teams: the Saints Super Bowl roster and the Bears Super Bowl roster. For that reason, I'm picking them to win the division. The
Atlanta Falcons will still be good however and can't be counted out. The
Tampa Bay Buccaneers also look good, but I think Bryan Mellon will quickly realize he can't rely on vets to make the postseason anymore. Last place is the
Carolina Panthers who are still too young to win.
NFC West
1.
San Francisco 49ers
2.
Seattle Seahawks
3.
Arizona Cardinals
4.
St. Louis Rams
Analysis: I'm finally doing it -- the
San Francisco 49ers win the NFC West again. They have the best QB under 30 in Kyle Orton and the rest of the roster has finally caught up. I also think the
Seattle Seahawks have a successful year as Rock Hewko will be angry about losing Jonathan Stewart on what he admits was a mistake. The
Arizona Cardinals should still be good, but I think last year was their ceiling. Last place is the
St. Louis Rams who are still rebuilding but may find out this rebuild needs to be done differently than the last one.
