SFL Draft Review- Top 3/Bottom1 & Draft Gem- Part 2
By Bryan Mellon

Continuation is now finished.

I took too long to complete this and missed the most recent AP update. Here are the remaining positions: OLB, CB, FS & SS.

OLB’s- Top 3
1. Sam Barringon- 23 year d old, 6’1” & 246 #- USF | 87 SPD, 84 STR, 81 ACC, 72 TAK
Barrington does not have the ideal ACC or TAK but a potential 90 SPD & 85 STR combo is just too tempting not to think some GM is going to be glad they took a chance on Barrington.

2. Brandon Hepburn- 22 years old, 6’4” & 225 #- Florida A&M | 82 SPD, 73 STR, 79 ACC, 84 TAK
Hepburn is not has fast but he is more polished than Barrington. Choosing Hepburn this high might not be popular but I think what he missed in SPD and ACC, he begins to make up for with his height and TAK ability.

3. Jelani Jenkins- 21 years old, 6’0” & 243 #- Georgia |80 SPD, 89 STR, 86, 82 ACC, 80 TAK
Jenkins is very unique. He has SPD that could end up barely adequate but has STR that could exceed 90. On top of that he has a pre skew rating of 86 in AGI. I think this combo of STR and AGI could help make Jenkins a very special player.

OLB- Bottom 1
Max Elhert- 22 years old, 5’10” & 220 #-| 76 SPD, 76 STR, 74 ACC & 73 TAK
Elhert has horrible size at just 5’10” and nothing else to make him stand out and make up for the size matter. He should consider himself lucky to get drafted.

Draft Gem Candidate:
Sean Porter- 22 years old, 6’1” & 229 #- | 88 SPD, 68 STR, 83 ACC, 70 TAK
There is a great chance Porter does not fall to the 4th round, I know this. I thought his STR of 66, super low of AWR of 57 as well as low TAK of 70 could perhaps make him slip. If he does slip and can end up the draft gem that STR, AWR & TAK would surely increase significantly making Porter a potential starter from day 1.

----------

CB- TOP 5 That is right, there are so many CB’s that I like that I am going to do a top 5.

1. Xavier Rhodes- 22 years old, 6’2” & 217 #- Florida State | 94 SPD, 68 STR, 64 AWR, 94 AGI, 99 ACC
Rhodes could end up being the #1 pick in this draft. There is nothing negative about this 6”2 SFL CB stud in the making.

2. David Amerson- 21 years old, 6’3” & 194 #- North Carolina State | 94 SPD, 52 STR, 61 AWR, 87 AGI, 93 ACC
Amerson does not have ideal STR, AWR or AGI but he is 6’3” and you can not teach that. Tall 6’3’ CB’s wih SPD & ACC over 90 are rare so expect Amerson to be drafted early.

3. Sanders Commings- 23 years old, 6’3” & 216 # | Georgia | 90 SPD, 60 STR, 54 AWR, 95 AGI, 94 ACC
In order for Commings to be drafted high he will need a good skew when it comes to SPD. I think Commings will be overlooked by many but I also think he is going to be a good SFL CB.

4. DeNarcus Milliner- 22 years old,6’1” & 198 #- Alabama | 95 SPD, 65 STR, 58 AWR, 93 AGI, 97 ACC
Milliner is a couple inches shorter than Commings and Amerson but he is much more polished. He will make for a very good SFL CB.

5. Desmond Trufant- 23 years old, 6’0” & 186 #- Mississippi State | 94 SPD, 52 STR, 59 AWR, 91 AGI, 95 ACC
Trufant may not have ideal size at just 6’0” but he boats all the important attributes needed to be a successful CB in the SFL.

CB- Bottom t
Logan Ryan- 23 years old, 6’0” & 190 #- |84 SPD, 54 STR, 53 AWR, 84 AGI, 90 ACC
Ryan may get drafted since he hits the magical 6’0” mark.

Draft Gem Candidate:
1. Darius Slay- 22 years old, 6’1” & 189 #- Mississippi State | 92 SPD, 59 STR, 59 AWR, 90 AGI, 95 ACC
Even though Slay is the 5th best CB on my list I think he is going to a good one. Again, I am not sure Slay will drop to the 4th round but if he does and becomes a draft gem possibility, he would end up being a great CB.

----------

FS- TOP 3
1. TJ McDonald- 22 years old, 6’3” & 205 #- USC | 88 SPD, 78 STR, 57 AWR, 85 AGI, 88 ACC
It is probably no surprise, but I love McDonald’s size. He’s 6’3” yet still has a chance to max out at 90 SPD. His amazing 78 STR allows for him to possibly be moved to SS, increasing his value even more at least in my opinion.

2. Duron Harmon- 24 years old, 6’0” & 205 #- Rutgers | 91 SPD, 54 STR, 57 AWR, 97 AGI, 95 ACC
Harmon is in a class all by himself when it comes to speedy FS’s this year. His 97 AGI and 95 ACC are double take worthy. His 91 SPD is good for the position. His STR might be concerning as it is just mid 50’s.

3. Jamoris Slaughter- 22 years old, 6’0” & 195 #- Notre Dame | 90 SPD, 61 STR, 55 AWR, 93 AGI, 90 ACC
Slaughter is a near copy of Harmon. Slaughter is a bit stringer whereas Harmon is more athletic.

CB- Bottom t
Earl Wolf- 23 years old, 5’11” & 209 #- | 83 SPD, 60 STR, 53 AWR, 83 AGI, 83 ACC
Wolf just isn’t athletic enough for me. He might make it onto an SFL roster as a FS2 but he should never see a starting role in the SFL.

Draft Gem Candidate:
Bacarri Rambo- 24 years old, 6’1” & 212 #- Georgia | 87 SPD, 63 STR, 55 AWR, 94 AGI, 91 ACC
Rambo lacks in SPD just a tad for me, so boy if GM’s hold out and try to draft him late he could perhaps be a great Draft Gem.

----------

SS- TOP 3
1. Shaun Williams- 23 years old, 6’1” & 218 #- Georgia | 92 SPD, 64 STR, 57 AWR, 94 AGI, 98 ACC
I think Shaun Williams will be an SFL all pro SS as long as his skew does no tank. He has geat athletic ability, especially for a SS. He is so athletic that I believe he could be converted to

2. DJ Swearinger- 24 years old, 5’11” & 209 #- South Carolina |90 SPD, 68 STR, 56 AWR, 94 AGI, 91 ACC
Swearinger has pretty good athletic skills for SS. He does not have good size to fall back on so he needs to make sure his SPD skews in the right direction.

3. Josh Evans- 23 years old, 6’0” & 198 #- Florida | 89 SPD, 59 STR, 55 AWR, 93 AGI, 90 ACC
Evans has the attributes to be a starter from this draft. He may not get the nod right at the start but with some training camp, rookie progression and maybe even sophomore progression he should be able tocrack the starting lineup for most GM’s teams.

CB- Bottom t
Phillip Thomas- 23 years old, 6’1” & 219 # | 83 SPD, 56 STR, 57 AWR, 93 AGI, 90 ACC
Thomas has the traits to be a backup SS but not a starter. If you draft him suspecting a backup SS then you should be okay, however if you expect for this guy to be a starter you better watch out!

Draft Gem Candidate:
Cooper Taylor- 23 years old, 6’4” & 229 #- Richmond | 83 SPD, 68 STR, 59 AWR, 84 AGI, 87 ACC
It should be obvious here but Taylor’s size is why I added him here. He is probably a low end sophomore year starter going into the draft. If he could someone be picked late enough to be considered for the drat gem and win it, he would then jump into day 1 starter territory,
