This is my assessment of the best 32 players in this years draft. Not going to be necessarily in that particular order but should be close. I will look at who is currently sitting at the respective spots and adjust slightly.
1. CB Xavier Rhodes. I can't see a scenario where a 94 speed corner at 6'2" isn't going at number 1. Rhodes has everything a GM wants in their secondary. Also one of the more polished player in this draft. No brainer to me.
2. WR Justin Hunter. Another guy that at his 6'4" frame is going to be hard to pass up on. If he skews up it's the type of player that in the past goes 1.1.
3. CB Demarcus Millner. Second best corner by my opinion in the draft. Only one inch shorter then Rhodes and a little less polished. He may slip a few spots but not likely dropping out of the top 5.
4. RE Dion Jordan. Mr. Freak! I get it, this guys OVR is going to be through the roof. He kinda reminds of Jay Moore of 2007 draft taken at 1.11. I do relise he is way more polished so that's why he is in the top 5.
5. OT Eric Fisher. Mr Freak number 2! I didn't hit a fit the system on him but I'm sure that he's a hard match. Guys of lesser skill have gone this high in the past. So I feel good about him in the top 5.
6. MLB Jonathan Bostic. I see that his age is 24, but that doesn't mean his attributes are less valuable. This guy at 22 is a top 5 pick all day. I bumped him down due to his age unfortunately. He is still a complete stud.
7. HB Eddy Lacy. Probably a little high for Lacy but somebody is going to out weigh need for value along the way. It starts here. Reminds me of the old days of Tom Collins and LeGarrette Blount. I think he won a super bowl with him. Bruiser back with short yardage capabilities.
8. WR DeAndre Hopkins. Another wide receiver in the top 10. Easy to argue there are better players but again need trumps value. I like Hopkins as he has all the tools to be a number 1 guy on most teams. Top 10 has his name on it.
9. TE Tyler Eifert. This is going to be totally skew dependent. If it is favorable then Eifert would compete with previous tight ends taken high in the draft. Lot's to like here.
10. SS Shawn Williams. looks like the right place for him to go. Williams has elite level attributes along with good size. A savvy GM would be foolish to pass him here. Not throwing any shade of course.
11. HB Latavius Murray. Big time size and fairly polished. His biggest crutch is that BTK. 67 is rough really rough. I still think he has good upside with the age at 22. I don't see Murray getting to 15 in any scenario.
12. MLB Nico Johnson. This looks like a huge value play here. Depending on skew of course. Nico is a very skilled player that can start from day one on the majority of the teams in the league. Easy to do worse here.
13. LT David Bakhtiari. Listed at LT, I think a move to guard is where this guy can shine. Elite blocking skills right out of the gate. All around solid attributes. I like him inside the top 15 either way.
14. CB David Amerson. If he skews up I'll say top 5 pick. If not it's top 15. At 6'3" we have seen players of his size go very high in the draft. I think the agility will hurt his value but like they say. You can't teach size!
15. LT Luke Joeckel. Another high ceiling player. Not as polished in the blocking department but still a very good player. Nice size and age is 21. Good value at 15.
16. MLB Kevin Minter. This class has 3 absolute studs in the middle of the defense. I had to use some tie breakers to sort these guys out. All though the skew will determine more then anything. Minter can either be a top 10 or top 20. It's that easy.
17. TE Dion Sims. I feel like the TE position has been getting a lot of love in recent years. The teens seem to also be the sweet spot for them. I think Sims is the second best TE in the draft.
18. WR Adam Thielen. I like Thielen and think he has potential. That low AWR is not ideal. If he lands on a team with a veteran QB his value will exceed his draft position.
19. LE Bjorn Werner. The draft is now starting to muddle up. There are so many guys that go at any time it's very hard to not draft for team need now. GM's are going to start to use tie breakers to find player that will start day one on there roster. Werner is a starter at 19.
20. HB Le'veon Bell. I see that the Raiders a re sitting here at 20. Total homer pick. Not sure if Brad will actually pull the trigger though. I would.
21. QB Matt Barkley. Kevin is still on tilt from the Woodson debacle. I can see him grabbing another young QB to ease the pain. Barkley looks to be 2 seasons away from imposing his will. Maybe 3. At 21 he has the time.
22. WR Cordarelle Patersson. If Patterson wasn't 21 i would put him in the second round. Age has value now. Interesting to see if he slides.
23. HB Montee Ball. If the Seahawks stand pat I think Ball gets his home. Not sure what happened with J Stew but it's never to late for redemption.
24. DT Johnathan Hankins. It's a bad year to want a DT. Hankins is the best looking DT in my opinion. They don't get the value you like to see from first round talent. But they are still a need.
25. CB Darius Slay. This is the total carnage part and it's only pick 25. Slay has the tools to out perform his ADP. I think he can.
26. FS Duron Harmon. He is athletically sound but very raw. With the mentor addition his value can increase sooner then later. Look out!
27. OLB Sam Barrington. I'm sifting threw the tall weeds at this point. Sam looks to have a ton of ability. There is a good chance he goes higher but not much of one.
28. QB Mike Glennon. This is where I see a QB of some sort landing. These guys are not studs out of the gate but definitely have up side. I like Glennon here.
29. MLB Manti Te'o. The Vikings are currently sitting here. Gotta think Neil goes for an athletic stud. Te'o has those hard to pass attributes. I think Neil was hoping for one of the two QB's. One spot too late.
30. WR Keenan Allen. Strictly a need pick. Allen at 20 could develop into a nice prospect. I'm sure the Panthers will be looking to get more points on the board on 2013. Keenan can help them today.
31. LE Ezekial Anzah. I see the Cowboys picking back to back. I also see a lot of their marked men off the board. I wonder if it's better to have two picks late or one pick higher. Ziggy is solid nothing more.
32. OLB Jelani Jenkins. This guys is a weird prospect. Not sure if he can be a total stud. I haven't seen his kind of makeup before. Here is a spot to take that chance.
Now we shall wait for the almighty GM smoke show and see how the first round shakes out. I'm sure there going to be some surprises and look forward to seeing it shake out live!
