2013 Draft Preview by Position- Offense
QB
Matt Barkley- 22 years old, 6’3”, 227 lbs.
63 SPD | 58 AWR | 97 THP | 87 THA | 92 INJ
Mike Glennon- 21 years old, 6’7”, 225 lbs.
52 SPD | 55 AWR | 94 THP | 86 THA | 99 INJ
Tyler Wilson- 22 years old, 6’2”, 215 lbs.
59 SPD | 59 AWR | 99 THP | 80 THA | 99 INJ
Landry Jones- 23 years old, 6’4”, 225 lbs.
51 SPD | 57 AWR | 88 THP | 84 THA | 99 INJ
Summary: This is a weak QB class overall. Although I should point out that the class doesn’t have any high injury players which is a positive. The low AWR of this class is what really limits it. However with the new mentor rule a case can be made that players in their 50’s in AWR can become starters in this league. It helps to have more time to develop which means being 21 or 22 is an advantage over 23 or 24. I suspect three QB’s are drafted in the first 50 just because of how in demand QB’s are.
RB
Eddie Lacy- 23 years old, 5’11”, 250 lbs.
92 SPD | 73 STR | 53 AWR | 91 AGI | 94 ACC | 88 CAR | 89 BTK | 81 INJ
Latavius Murray- 22 years old, 6’3”, 230 lbs.
92 SPD | 75 STR | 65 AWR | 90 AGI | 92 ACC | 87 CAR | 67 BTK | 96 INJ
Montee Ball- 22 years old, 5’11”, 214 lbs.
93 SPD | 73 STR | 65 AWR | 90 AGI | 93 ACC | 75 CAR | 81 BTK | 96 INJ
Le’Veon Bell- 21 years old, 6’1”, 225 lbs.
93 SPD | 58 STR | 55 AWR | 93 AGI | 94 ACC | 85 CAR | 69 BTK | 87 INJ
Knile Davis- 21 years old, 5’10”, 227 lbs.
89 SPD | 64 STR | 53 AWR | 95 AGI | 93 ACC | 75 CAR | 77 BTK | 88 INJ
Summary: I think this is an average RB class. Lacy looks to be the clear cut #1 with Murray, Ball, and Bell all in a second tier and Davis a tier below them. Murray and Bell have great CTH for RB’s which will help them in the passing game though I think that many RB’s are good in the passing game without good CTH. Lacy is beast in terms of size and Murray offers a rare 6’3” height to go with 230 lbs. Lacy is a top 15 back while both Murray, Ball, and Bell should be gone in the top 40.
FB
Tommy Bohanon- 22 years old, 6’1”, 246 lbs.
86 SPD | 85 STR | 54 AWR | 88 AGI | 89 ACC | 66 CAR | 65 BTK | 54 PBK | 58 RBK
Braden Wilson- 24 years old, 6’4”, 251 lbs.
80 SPD | 77 STR | 56 AWR | 84 AGI | 85 ACC | 61 CAR | 65 BTK | 54 PBK | 62 RBK
Kyle Juszczyk- 24 years old, 6’1”, 235 lbs.
82 SPD | 79 STR | 53 AWR | 84 AGI | 83 ACC | 68 CAR | 77 BTK | 45 PBK | 57 RBK
Summary: FB’s are just not a priority in Madden so it’s difficult to spend a ton of time on them in a draft preview. Bohanon is clearly the best FB in this draft and is worthy of a 2nd round pick, but do teams value the position highly enough to use one? I think that remains to be seen. Wilson and Juszczyk and both guys that can play in the league but are likely for late round picks.
WR
Justin Hunter- 20 years old, 6’4”, 198 lbs.
95 SPD | 39 STR | 61 AWR | 96 AGI | 98 ACC | 63 CTH
DeAndre Hopkins- 22 years old, 6’1”, 214 lbs.
96 SPD | 33 STR | 63 AWR | 96 AGI | 97 ACC | 82 CTH
Cordarelle Patterson- 21 years old, 6’2”, 216 lbs.
94 SPD | 41 STR | 52 AWR | 97 AGI | 98 ACC | 72 CTH
Robert Woods- 20 years old, 6’0”, 201 lbs.
96 SPD | 25 STR | 66 AWR | 96 AGI | 97 ACC | 82 CTH
Adam Thielen- 23 years old, 6’2”, 200 lbs.
96 SPD | 44 STR | 49 AWR | 94 AGI | 96 ACC | 81 CTH
Terrance Williams- 21 years old, 6’2”, 208 lbs.
92 SPD | 22 STR | 57 AWR | 91 AGI | 99 ACC | 72 CTH
Corey Fuller- 22 years old, 6’2”, 204 lbs.
92 SPD | 58 STR | 57 AWR | 91 AGI | 96 ACC | 69 CTH
Aaron Dobson- 23 years old, 6’3”, 210 lbs.
91 SPD | 58 STR | 60 AWR | 91 AGI | 93 ACC | 76 CTH
Summary: By SFL standards this is pretty average WR class. It lacks the typical high end speed we’ve had in past years, but there are 5 players with 94 plus speed who can still be really good players in the league and 2 of those players are 20 years old which means they can have long, productive careers. Fuller and Dobson later on down the line also offer potential as taller possession WR’s. If you need a WR you can find one here even if it’s not the high end one you may have been hoping for.
TE
Tyler Eifert- 22 years old, 6'6", 250 lbs.,
83 SPD | 70 STR | 63 AWR | 81 AGI | 88 ACC | 83 CTH | 53 PBK | 48 RBK
Dion Sims- 23 years old, 6'5", 262 lbs.
84 SPD | 77 STR | 57 AWR | 84 AGI | 85 ACC | 50 PBK | 55 RBK
Zach Ertz- 23 years old, 6'5", 249 lbs.
85 SPD | 65 STR | 59 AWR | 83 AGI | 84 ACC | 84 CTH | 50 PBK | 47 RBK
Jack Doyle- 23 years old, 6'6", 262 lbs.
82 SPD | 65 STR | 51 AWR | 81 AGI | 88 ACC | 80 CTH | 50 PBK | 53 RBK
Levine Toilolo- 23 years old, 6'8", 260 lbs.
78 SPD | 60 STR | 62 AWR | 70 AGI | 81 ACC | 72 CTH | 57 PBK | 52 RBK
Summary: This is a pretty good TE class. I'm not sure how valuable the position is personally, but I do think that some GM's value them highly. I would guess it's those who run the Broncos playbook pretty regularly. There are a couple of guys who could be really good. Again, it will come down to GM evaluations. Overall though, I think there are a couple of late 1st round/early second round guys.
OT
Eric Fisher- 22 years old, 6’7”, 306 lbs.
72 SPD | 88 STR | 59 AWR | 79 AGI | 86 ACC | 87 PBK | 86 RBK
Menalik Watson- 23 years old, 6’5”, 310 lbs.
70 SPD | 98 STR | 57 AWR | 74 AGI | 76 ACC | 89 PBK | 87 RBK
J.C. Tretter- 23 years old, 6’4”, 307 lbs.
68 SPD | 98 STR | 53 AWR | 77 AGI | 82 ACC | 86 PBK | 74 RBK
Brennan Williams- 22 years old, 6’6”, 318 lbs.
67 SPD | 90 STR | 55 AWR | 75 AGI | 79 ACC | 82 PBK | 87 RBK
Ricky Wagner- 23 years old, 6’6”, 308 lbs.
65 SPD | 98 STR | 55 AWR | 68 AGI | 76 ACC | 81 PBK | 89 RBK
Luke Joeckel- 21 years old, 6’6”, 306 lbs.
70 SPD | 89 STR | 61 AWR | 69 AGI | 75 ACC | 88 PBK | 77 PBK
David Bakhtiari- 22 years old, 6’4”, 299 lbs.
65 SPD | 91 STR | 55 AWR | 73 AGI | 73 ACC | 92 PBK | 84 RBK
Terron Armstead- 23 years old, 6’5”, 306 lbs.
59 SPD | 97 STR | 59 AWR | 72 AGI | 71 ACC | 88 PBK | 86 RBK
D.J. Fluker- 22 years old, 6’5” | 339 lbs.
61 SPD | 93 STR | 60 AWR | 62 AGI | 73 ACC | 92 PBK | 84 RBK
Summary: I think this is a good offensive line class. There isn’t a true stud but there are plenty of players who can be starters and develop into Pro-Bowl players. And I think there are several players with different strengths in this draft which should produce a diverse draft board since GM’s will value certain attributes higher than others. I would guess that we see 4-5 OT’s go in round one with another 3-4 in round two. There are guys not listed that should also be decent mid-round picks. I feel like the strength of this OL draft is at OT and C, not so much at OG.
OG
Aday Aboushi- 23 years old, 6’5”, 308 lbs.
67 SPD | 93 STR | 53 AWR | 62 AGI | 84 ACC | 85 PBK | 79 RBK
Larry Warford- 22 years old, 6’3”, 332 lbs.
62 SPD | 93 STR | 60 AWR | 68 AGI | 70 ACC | 83 PBK | 89 RBK
Edmund Kugbila- 24 years old, 6’4”, 325 lbs.
59 SPD | 94 STR | 55 AWR | 69 AGI | 78 ACC | 78 PBK | 87 RBK
Garrett Gilkey- 23 years old, 6’6”, 320 lbs.
66 SPD | 96 STR | 55 AWR | 74 AGI | 70 ACC | 81 PBK | 84 RBK
Chance Warmack- 23 years old, 6’2”, 317 lbs.
64 SPD } 92 STR | 65 AWR | 57 AGI | 81 ACC | 83 PBK | 85 RBK
Kyle Long- 24 years old, 6’6”, 313 lbs.
63 SPD | 98 STR | 53 AWR | 67 AGI | 71 ACC | 75 PBK | 82 RBK
Summary: This is pretty frustrating OG class for me. The top rated player is Aboushi but he suffers from low AGI and RBK. In fact, the class as a whole suffers from low AGI. I think Chance Warmack will go higher than I have him here but OL with under 60 AGI are dropped significantly lower in my rankings even though they may have superior attributes elsewhere. In this list Warford and Long have good qualities but their ACC is lower than I want, barely passable in fact. Overall this class leaves something to be desired.
C
Travis Frederick- 21 years old, 6’4”, 312 lbs.
65 SPD | 92 STR | 51 AWR | 72 AGI | 73 ACC | 85 PBK | 92 RBK
Kevin McDermott- 24 years old, 6’5”, 340 lbs.
64 SPD | 91 STR | 55 AWR | 72 AGI | 78 ACC | 82 PBK | 83 RBK
Ivon Blackman- 23 years old, 6’3”, 310 lbs.
65 SPD | 94 STR | 61 AWR | 67 AGI | 72 ACC | 83 PBK | 85 RBK
T.J. Johnson- 23 years old, 6’4”, 310 lbs.
63 SPD | 92 STR | 55 AWR | 69 AGI | 74 ACC | 81 PBK | 86 RBK
Jake Jackson- 23 years old, 6’4”, 286 lbs.
65 SPD | 90 STR | 56 AWR | 73 AGI | 77 ACC | 84 PBK | 81 RBK
Summary: I think this is a good C draft class. There are five players that can start in this league. McDermott to me is the intriguing player in this class because of his size and age. His size is a huge plus but his age is a huge minus. I’m curious to see how GM’s will grade him. I think all 5 players above our 2nd to 4th round grades. I think it would be a reach to grab one in round 1 unless there is a great private workout. Some years we haven’t seen many starters at this position. This year, however, represents a good opportunity to find starters.
