4.12 - MAX+ Free Agency Contracts
A forum has been created titled "MAX+ Free Agency Bids". Any bid on a player in free agency that is at least a max bid must be made through this forum. Any bids submitted through League Pulse in this manner will be invalid.

You will now be able to make what will be referred to as a "MAX+ Bid." This is a bid above what Madden 08 allows to be made in game. However, this comes with an obvious financial cost. The rules for MAX+ Bids are as follow:

1. To begin MAX+ bidding on a player, create a post detailing the salary, bonus and years for the bid. The minimum amount of years allowed for any MAX+ bid is 3 years, regardless of age.
2. Once a bid has been made, it may not be retracted. No exceptions.
3. To outbid a previous poster, you reply to the thread. Any follow-up bids must have a 5% increase both salary and bonus. You are responsible for making sure your math is correct. Any questions, feel free to ask the league. These bids are open and not anonymous.
4. MAX+ bids will remain open into the Top 3 bidding phase. At the beginning of "Top 3 Bidding" a random timestamp during those 2 days will be determined by the commissioners (and saved ahead of schedule). At that time, the bidding will close (or as close as possible...we do have to sleep sometimes). A commissioner will lock the thread and announce the winning team and bid.
5. Once Top 3 bidding opens, only teams that have submitted a bid prior will be able to increase bids.
6. If a commissioner is involved in bidding, they will not have access to the timestamp for when bidding will close.

Special Note: If that first MAX+ bid is placed on a player within 6 hours of the end of the first round of Free Agency, additional teams will still be allowed to bid for 12 hours, even if the deadline for free agency has passed.
